If you're a Girl Scout Alumna, join us for an opportunity to participate in the collection of ideas on the direction of the new Alumnae Initiative. Announcing 2014 Celebrate Leadership Girl Representatives

These girls will share their personal Girl Scout leadership story with community leaders, meet and connect with a fantastic group of women who serve as leaders in our community, participate in a professional photo shoot and receive professional speaking coaching, and participate in our annual Celebrate Leadership fundraiser.  We are pleased to announce the six girls who will represent who we are, what we do and why it matters.  Meet our 2014 Girl Representatives!

...for your outstanding support of our 2014 cookie program!  From our Cookie Rally to our Mega Drops, training sessions, National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend, door to door sales, booth sales and more, our 2014 cookie season was a phenomenal demonstration of teamwork and camaraderie!  Your support was critical to the success of our cookie program this year.  And a success it was!  While the national Girl Scout cookie program saw a sales decline of about 4% from last year, Girl Scouts of Orange County exceeded last year's sales by 1%!  See our Cookie Infographic for this year's highlights!

Mother Nature Walking Tours - July   Everyone

Free walking tours through July for all Girl Scouts!! Take a guided tour of Santiago Oaks Regional Park in Orange as you work on a Naturalist Badge covering the indigenous Tongva history & culture while learning about Orange County's environment, plants, and animals. 

 

Inaugural Math Fair - Aug. 2   Everyone

Welcome to MIND Research Institute's inaugural Math Fair at the square root of FUN! This free, family-fun event will excite young minds as they interact with mathematically-themed activities, games, exhibits and performances. Game-A-Thon  entry submission deadline

has been extended to July 13!
 

STEM Exploration: Robot Dance Challenge - Aug 4-8 & Aug 11-15  Senior Ambassador

Space still available for this science meets rock & roll program!  Gain skills in STEM, collaboration and creative expression while grooving to the music of your choice with a humanoid robot that you programmed!

 

Turtle and Tortoise Show - Aug 17  Everyone

Education and fun come together with over 30 species of turtles and tortoises' on display!  Fun for the whole family & especially Daisies working on the Three Cheers for Animals Journey!!

 

TEDx Teen Challenge - Sept 19-20  Cadette Senior Ambassador

TEDxOrangeCoast free contest celebrates and fosters STEM and challenges teens age 13-19 to come up with an "Idea Worth Doing" along with a plan to implement it.  Winners will be announced during the 4th annual TEDxOrangeCoast event in Fall 2014 and will receive cash prize mentorship, and exposure and support to further projects.  Submission deadline is August 31.  

 

WICKED "For Good" Getaway - Jan. 24, 2015   Everyone

Learn music and choreography from Wicked, be inspired by a keynote address from high profile female speakers, and attend the 2:00pm matinee performance of Wicked with an audience of Girl Scouts from across the country!

Don't forget that girls can use cookie dough to come up and experience camp as a troop during a weekend camp or for their own adventure during a weekend camp with a parent. 
 
Chaperones Needed!

We are looking for a few good (adult) chaperones to ride the bus up and back with the campers. Each chaperone will receive an exclusive Camp Scherman shirt and be provided with a lunch at camp.  Dates: July 21, July 25, August 1, August 8, August 15.  Please check your calendars and email ejohnson@girlscoutsoc.org if interested.

Weekend Camps will be offered through the summer!  Sign up as a troop or as a parent-child pair.  Registration is now open for Weekend Camps through Dec 7, 2014!  Click here for a complete listing and more information on all weekend camps.

Leader/Mom and Daughter Weekend - Aug 1-3   Everyone

Leave your troop in the city for one-one-one fun with your daughter in the beautiful outdoors. Enjoy a weekend with your favorite Girl Scout. We do the cooking and planning so you don't have to. Canoe on the lake, take aim in archery, take a dip in the pool and much more. $135 per person. Register now! 

 

Family Camp - Aug 29- Sept 1   Everyone

Enjoy a unique and relaxing weekend camp experience with family and friends taking in all of the beauty of camp and its surroundings. Explore wide-open spaces and enjoy staff-planned nature and camp activities for all ages, including swimming, hiking, crafts, games, campfires, archery, and canoeing. Provide your own tent, RV or camper, or stay in one of our mountain cabins. Sign up for our weekend meal plan that includes seven meals, or bring a propane stove to prepare your own meals. No charge for children 4 and under!  Cabin Cost: $57 per person,

Summer Resident Camps

Can you play riffs or strum in the key of G? Learn to play guitar to accompany popular camp songs. Join your fellow musicians for camp activities when you aren't strumming. If you have a guitar, please bring it, but it is not required.   Register Now!
