Have You Renewed Yet?

Renew your girl and adult members now and your troop will have a chance to win some great experiences like an on-ice opportunity with the Anaheim Ducks! Plus, every girl who renews by June 30th receives a special commemorative patch designed just for the 2014-15 membership year!

 

Save the Date for Fall Fun!

  • Aug. 16:  August Kickoff event includes tasting of nuts, chocolates & cookies, new stuff for fall & cookie programs, goal setting workshop for leaders and more!
  • Sept. 20:  Open House & Fall Product Rally.  Fun for girls, volunteers, troops & the whole family!
  • Oct 5 - Nov 16: get your  Troop Team & Service Unit Team together now to be ready for our 2014 Fall Product Program.

West Days at the Autry - Summer   Everyone

Join the Autry in L.A. this summer for Wednesday West Days and travel back in time panning for gold and experiencing what life was like in the old west. This would be a great place to go if working on the Playing the Past badge for juniors!

 

Destinations Scoop Night - May 29  Cadette Senior Ambassador 

This info night is for Girl Scouts and their parents/ guardians to find out about Girl Scout destinations. The application process begins this fall. Come find out about these life changing Girl Scout travel opportunities so you can be ready to apply!

 

Polynesian Dance Performance - June 29  Everyone

La Mirada Performing Arts Theater presents Alohi's Polynesian Review with a special price for Girl Scouts for the show and a luau patch! Pre-purchase tickets $10 by June 27, $15 at the door. Don't forget that you can use your cookie dough to pay for camp. Come up and experience camp as a troop during a weekend camp or for your own adventure during a weekend camp with you and your parent.

Camp Nights- parents, volunteers and girls are invited to join us to meet camp staff, ask questions, and get more information about Camp Scherman. Camp Nights will be from 7:00-8:30 PM.  To register for a Camp Night and get directions, please email ejohnson@girlscoutsoc.org

Open House

Pack a lunch and bring the family up to camp for Camp Scherman Open House on June 22. Go on a camp tour, meet the staff, and sing a few songs while you walk around the property. 2014 WEEKEND CAMPS

Weekend Camps will be offered now through the summer!  Sign up as a troop or as a parent-child pair.  Registration is now open for Weekend Camps through Dec 2014!  Click here for a complete listing and more information on all weekend camps.

Who wants to saddle up and take a trail ride at camp? We have now added a horse option to the program offerings for the summer weekend camps only (additional fee required). Register today - space is limited!

SUMMER CAMP SPOTLIGHTS:

 

The Science of Camp - July 28-Aug 1  For girls entering grades 4-6 

Explore the wonders of science and the outdoors as you make and launch bottle rockets, experiment with slimey, oozey chemical reactions, perform an egg drop, and build catapults and marshmallow shooters. Have fun as you explore physics, chemistry, and engineering!  Register Now!

 

Picture This - July 28-Aug 1 and Aug 11-15 
For girls entering grades 4-6
As you trek around camp, you will be inspired to take the perfect photographs of breathtaking landscapes, nature and your new camp friends. Upload your photos and learn to use editing software to create frame-worthy photos for your wall. Girls must provide their own digital camera.  Register Now!

  Volunteer Training 

Having an activity outside your regular meeting place?  Don't forget your First Aider!

 

There are several outdoor situations where a Level One First Aid/CPR certified person is necessary.  Be sure that you're covered by getting your training done now!  

 

Level One First Aid/CPR - Saturday, June 7th, 9am-5:30pm at Yorba Linda Program Center ($45/person)
