Build Her Future at the August Kick Off Enjoy a day of networking, informative workshops and community exhibitors to help plan out your Girl Scout year. The August Kick Off will be held on August 16 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m at the UC Irvine Student and Event Center. Online registration opens May 1 and $7 per person registration includes a light breakfast, Product Sale Preview & Tasting, GSOC & Community Exhibitors, and your choice of three workshops. For an additional $7 you may pre-order a lunch (optional). Don't miss out on this unique opportunity to choose what you what to learn about, to speak with GSOC staff, and to mingle and share ideas with other leaders. See you in August!

Only 3 Days to Redeem Before Cookie Dough/OC Bucks Expire
Shop now before it's too late! Use your cookie dough for Camp Scherman, SU Day Camp, SU Events, Troop Travel or GS Shop merchandise. 2013 Cookie Dough & 2012 OC Bucks redeemed for Service Unit events or day camp must be submitted to GSOC by APRIL 30 for reimbursement. Cards cannot be used after their expiration date.

Water Awareness Day - May 3
Join Santa Margarita Water District for this FREE exciting and educational community event complete with native flower planting, presentations, hands on tide pool, and more. Especially great for girls doing the WOW! Wonders of Water Journey!
Girl Scout Night at Angels Stadium - June 7
It's more than a game - it's the opportunity of a lifetime to walk on the field at Angel Stadium with your troop and cheer on the Angels with thousands of other Girl Scouts! Create a troop banner and wave it proudly as you participate in the pre-game Girl Scout Parade and stay after the game to enjoy the post-game fireworks! Purchase your tickets for the game directly from the Angels through this form by May 8 and then register for the parade by emailing [email protected] .

Don't forget that you can use your cookie dough to pay for camp. Come up and experience camp as a troop during a weekend camp or for your own adventure during a weekend camp with you and your parent.

Open HousePack a lunch and bring the family up to camp for Camp Scherman Open House, on June 22. Go on a camp tour, meet the staff, and sing a few songs while you walk around the property. Weekend Camp Spotlights:
Create Your Weekend Camp - Upper Camp July 11- 13, July 18-20, July 25-27
$104 per person Whether you are new to camp, or you are a weekend camp warrior, unplug from your busy life and recharge at Camp Scherman. Hang out on the lake or at the museum. You get to create your schedule of activities, be as busy or relaxed as you like. The perfect opportunity for girls of all ages to choose your own adventure and have a weekend to remember!

Summer Resident Leadership Camp Spotlights:
LEAP- July 21-25
For girls entering grades 6-9 Take the leap from camper to counselor in this pre-Counselor in Training leadership program and discover your leadership potential! Navigate life's twists and turns and find true friendships, and lots of confidence. Enhance your skills in communication, group dynamics and team building.Register Now!
Counselor in Training 1 - July 14-25
For girls entering 11th grade Discover your leadership talents and learn how to share them with children at one of the largest Girl Scout camps in the nation! Find out what the job of a camp counselor at Camp Scherman is all about. Program planning and other interactive skills will be shared while you discover your own leadership style. Those interested in the CIT program must register online AND submit a CIT application by May 20, 2014.
Counselor in Training 2 - July 28- Aug 15 For girls entering 12th grade
Continue to develop your leadership style and discover the challenges and rewards of being a camp counselor. Time will be spent on camp program planning, problem solving and strengthening interpersonal skills. CIT 1 is a perquisite for this program. There is an application and interview process and there are limited spots available for those interested. Those interested in the CIT program must register online AND submit a CIT application by May 20, 2014.
