Girl Delegate Advisor Program - Apr 22  Cadette Senior Ambassador Volunteer

The Girl Delegate Advisor Program is a year-long program for Girl Scouts in 8th-12th grade to learn more about and experience the governance of GSOC, what it takes to be a delegate and more! Registration closes April 17th.

 

Muzeo Trash Art Contest & Earth Day Expo - April 26   Everyone

Muzeo has extended the deadline to submit your "Intent to Participate" for their Trash Art contest to April 20. If you are interested in participating, it's not too late! Artwork due 4/26

 

 Aquarium Earth Day Celebration - Apr 26-27   Everyone

Join the Aquarium of the Pacific for a weekend of family fun celebrating Earth Day while learning simple, everyday tips to protect our environment. General admission required. Save $10 by bringing e-waste recyclables!

 Catch On To Cadettes - Apr 29   Junior Cadette

Think Girl Scouts is only for little girls? Think again! Girl Scouts' leadership development program is fun and can foster lifetime friendships. Come to our seminar to learn more about Older Girl activities like Cadette-O-Rama, Day Camp Youth Staff, Highest Awards and Troop/Group Travel, and how you can use your Girl Scout leadership experience to prepare for your future.

 

Song-a-Long In the Park - May 3   Everyone

Love singing Girl Scout songs?  Girl Scout Daisies to Ambassadors, Leaders/Advisors, and Alumni are invited.  Bring your own dinner for a picnic in the park and get ready to make new friends and sing!  Registration deadline is April 30.

 ENC Spring Faire & Butterfly House Opening - May 4  Everyone

Come to this fun event and enjoy arts and crafts, butterfly house, live animals, food and more! This event is a great connection to the Daisy Journeys and Brownie Bugs badge! 

 

 Wilderness Hike - May 11   Cadette Senior Ambassador Volunteer

Have you taken the Wilderness Hiking class with our High Adventure Group and want to bring your skills out into the wild? This 4.5 mile hike is for those who have completed the Wilderness Hiking class. Please come prepared with the proper supplies listed on calendar. Want to take the prerequisite Wilderness Hiking class to learn the hiking skills you need? The next one will be offered June 29

 

Girl Scout Night at Angels Stadium - June 7   Everyone

This annual event is a great way to bring the whole family out to the ballgame while proudly supporting the Girl Scouts of Orange County!

 

Cinderella - June 13, 14, 15   Everyone

All About Girls Theater Production Troop proudly presents Cinderella.  Tickets are on sale now!  Girl Scout troop rates (6 or more girls) are available.   

 

Navitat Zipline Adventure High Adventure Group-June 15 Cadette Senior Ambassador Volunteer

Looking for an adventure 300 ft. above the forest floor? Join the High Adventure Group for a thrilling day of ziplining! We need leaders to join us and participate in all of the activities too, so sign up now!

Don't forget that you can use your cookie dough to pay for camp. Come up and experience camp as a troop during a weekend camp or for your own adventure during a weekend camp with you and your parent.

Camp Nights- parents, volunteers and girls are invited to join us to meet camp staff, ask questions, and get more information about Camp Scherman. Camp Nights will be from 7:00-8:30 PM.  To register for a Camp Night and get directions, please email ejohnson@girlscoutsoc.org

SUMMER LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
 

Counselor in Training 1 - July 14-25
For girls entering 11th grade
 

Discover your leadership talents and learn how to sh
are them with children at one of the largest Girl Scout camps in the nation! Find out what the job of a camp counselor at Camp Scherman is all about. Program planning and other interactive skills will be shared while you discover your own leadership style. 

 
Apprentice - July 14- August 15 
The Apprentice Program is designed for those who have completed CIT 1 and CIT 2 and are not yet eligible to be summer resident staff. The objective for the Apprentice program is for the participants to learn and work in different areas of camp to gain experience in planning and implementing quality camp programming for appropriate age groups. Email ejohnson@girlscoutsoc.org for application - limited spots available. 
 
2014 WEEKEND CAMPS

Weekend Camps will be offered now through the summer!  Sign up as a troop or as a parent-child pair.  Registration is now open for Weekend Camps through Dec 2014!  Click here for a complete listing and more information on all weekend camps.

  

Spring Weekend Camp Spotlight: 

Outdoor Cooking - April 25-27   Junior Cadette Senior Ambassador

Love to cook or want to learn how? Whip up some marvelous meals and tasty treats and design recipe cards to recreate yummy eats at home! Have fun in the kitchen or try out your oven mitts with Dutch oven and outdoor grill cooking. In between taste tests, choose from a buffet of camp activities like canoeing and archery.

Summer Resident Camp Spotlight: 

  

Girls and Guitars- July 21-25  Can you play riffs or strum in the key of G? Learn to play guitar to accompany popular camp songs. Join your fellow musicians for camp activities when you aren't strumming. If you have a guitar, please bring it, but it is not required. For girls entering grades 4-6.  

  Volunteer Training

Ready to try some cooking on your next camping trip or outing?

 

Learn different methods of cooking outdoors, while keeping it Girl Led (age appropriate).  Follow the Outdoor Progression Chart and contact Training@GirlScoutsOC.org or 949.461.8867 with any questions.  Hope to see you there!
