It's Time to Renew Your Troop

Troop Leaders - visit www.GirlScoutsOC.org/TroopRenew to get the latest renewal instructions and resources to help renew your troop by June 30th. Your troop could win a weekend at Camp Scherman or an exclusive troop experience! Plus, every girl and leader who renews online by June 30th receives a special commemorative patch! 

 

Call for Presenters at August Kick Off - August 16th at UCI

Our annual enrichment event for volunteers, August Kick Off, starts our Girl Scout year off with a bang! This year we are inviting you to present your expertise and/or skill to educate and inspire our adult volunteers. Submit your proposal to be an August Kick Off presenter by April 14. Workshops and Learning Sessions of all lengths and varieties from volunteers or community contacts will be considered. Last Chance to Nominate a Girl Scout for Celebrate Leadership
Celebrate Leadership is our annual fundraising event, and we're looking for a few great Girl Scout representatives to share their Girl Scout story with 400+ community leaders, receive professional speaking training and coaching, participate in a professional photo shoot with an OC community leader and more!  Nominate a girl by Apr 15!  

 

Celebrate our Headliners Recognition Event

5 Minute Film Festival - STEM   Everyone

Fact: Women still make up less than a quarter of the STEM workforce in the United States. Let's turn that around! Check out this virtual film festival to encourage girls to pursue STEM careers and get inspired!

 

Whale Watching Tours   Everyone

Newport Landing whale watching is always a good choice when looking for some marine education splashed with fun! 

 

Girl Scout Family & Friends Night with LA Galaxy Soccer - Apr 12  Everyone

LA Galaxy invites you to Girl Scout Family and Friends Night to cheer for your favorite soccer team and have a blast representing Girl Scouts with your family and friends! Plus a portion of every ticket sold will come back to the Girl Scouts of Orange County!

 

Plastic Free Event - Apr 13  Everyone

Girl Scouts are invited to attend this free event to hear how one person, Beth Terry, eliminated the VAST majority of plastic in her life, and take a look at her book, Plastic Free: How I Kicked the Plastic Habit and How You Can Too, for great tips on how they can do it too.  This event is a great field trip idea to complement any of the It's Your Planet: Love It! Journeys 

 

Girl Delegate Advisor Program - Apr 22  Cadette Senior Ambassador Volunteer

The Girl Delegate Advisor Program is a year-long program for Girl Scouts in 8th-12th grade to learn more about and experience the governance of GSOC, what it takes to be a delegate and more! Registration closes April 17th.

 

National Thank You Day - May 19   Everyone

Looking for a way to show your appreciation to local service women and men? Thank them on May 19th!

Don't forget that you can use your cookie dough to pay for camp. Come up and experience camp as a troop during a weekend camp or for your own adventure during a weekend camp with you and your parent.

Camp Nights- parents, volunteers and girls are invited to join us to meet camp staff, ask questions, and get more information about Camp Scherman. Camp Nights will be from 7:00-8:30 PM.  To register for a Camp Night and get directions, please email ejohnson@girlscoutsoc.org

Bridging Weekend - May 23-25   Everyone   $104 per person Troop 156 Bridging

This is a special time for those girls that are ready to move to the next level and want to share in the magic of camp in a ceremony that signifies the accomplishments and the adventures that lie ahead of each girl. Take part in planning and decorating for your ceremony as well as taking some time to participate in camp activities. No ceremony at camp would be complete without a cake just for you! Join us for your next step in Girl Scouts.

Create Your Weekend Camp   Everyone
Ranch House Cabins - July 11- 13, July 18-20, July 25-27, $135 per person

Upper Camp July 11- 13, July 18-20, July 25-27, Aug 1-3, $104 per person  

Whether you are new to camp, or you are a weekend camp warriors unplug from your busy life and recharge at Camp Scherman. Hang out on the lake or at the museum. You get to create your schedule of activities, be as busy or relaxed as you like. This is your weekend- choose your own adventure and have a weekend to remember!

Summer Resident Camp Spotlights: 

  

Ranch House Camper Sampler - July 14-18

For girls entering grades 4-6  What will you do this summer? Don't sit inside when you could be in the crystal clear mountain air! Whether you are new to camp or come every year, unplug from your busy life and recharge at Camp Scherman with a little bit of everything - canoeing, archery, swimming, arts and crafts and more. Choose your own adventure and have a summer to remember!  Same great program offerings, but instead of staying in a cabin, or sleep shelter, girls sleep in a building with bunk beds and electricity, bathrooms and dining hall inside. 

 

Songsational - July 14-18
For girls entering grades 4-6
Sing and dance your way through the week! Do you like to be in the spotlight? Find your voice and sing some of your favorite songs, strum a few chords, write your own lyrics and choreograph dance moves for a "songsational" show!
