Bossy Holds Girls Back

Girls are twice as likely as boys to worry that leadership roles will make them seem "bossy."  Girl Scouts has teamed up Sheryl Sandberg and the Lean In Foundation to encourage girls to lead - and to ban the use of discouraging words like "bossy."  Download leadership tips for parents and girls, share #banbossy and check out the coverage in Parade, the Wall Street Journal , ABC News, and Huffington Post.  Visit BanBossy.com to take the pledge today and check out our brand new Ban Bossy merchandise!

Thank You Cookie Volunteers & Parents!

Our cookie volunteers & parents are awesome and you deserve recognition for your efforts! Because of you, a Girl Scout learned self-reliance, how to work with others and about giving back to the community. Because you said yes, a Girl Scout ran her own small business that included setting goals, making decisions & managing money. Because you helped out, a Girl Scout increased her courage, character, confidence by being responsible, speaking up for herself and showcasing her talents is a very public way. There's more to Girl Scout Cookies than what's in the box.  Thank you for making a difference in the lives of girls!

Cookie Volunteer Survey

Troop Cookie Managers, SU Cookie Managers, Leaders and SU Team Members are all invited to evaluate this year's cookie program by March 31, 2014. A girl survey will be emailed directly to girls next month. Focus group sessions will be scheduled soon - volunteers should watch their Weekly Update enewsletters for dates & times to share feedback in person.
