Girl Scout Week
This week-long celebration of the founding of the Girl Scout Movement begins with Girl Scout Sunday on March 9, includes Girl Scout Birthday on March 12, and ends with Girl Scout Sabbath on March 16. We've put together this handy Girl Scout Week Guide with activities, celebrations and shop sales for every day of the week!
It's Not Too Late to Nominate Girls for Recognition - Deadline Mar 12
The Outstanding Senior Girl Scout Recognition, Juliette Low Spirit of Girl Scouting Award, and Take Action Awards will be presented as a surprise to Girl Scout Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors at Girl Scouts Celebrate Our Newsmakers on June 1. In addition, eligible girls will be recognized as Graduating Seniors, Ten Year Award recipients, Gold Award recipients, and Bridge to Adult recipients. Click here for nomination forms.
Celebrate Leadership Nominations Due Apr 15 Celebrate Leadership is our annual fundraising event, and we're looking for a few great Girl Scout representatives to share their Girl Scout story with 400+ community leaders, receive professional speaking training and coaching, participate in a professional photo shoot with an OC community leader and more! Travel Plans on the Horizon? If you are getting ready to submit Travel Plans for approval by GSOC, the Travel Class is now part of the approval process. MYfm $5K Cookie Buy It's time to vote! MYfm will buy $5,000 of Girl Scout cookies from a SoCal troop & will donate them to the USO! Vote for a troop by 4 pm on 3/13.
Earn All 6 Cookie Patches Help your Girl Scouts earn all interlocking Cookie Patches: Theme patch for selling 50+ packages, Goal Getter patch for selling 165+, Online patch for sending 12 emails with COCO, Cookie Share patch for 12+ packages for donation, Achievement bar for selling 150+ and work as a troop to earn the Cookie Booth patch. Girl Reward Spotlight You don't have to be the top seller to reap awesome rewards. At just 150 packages, girls can earn a zipper pull, patch, bracelet, mood necklace, Yoyo Lip Gloss and a stuffed Red Panda! Girls who reach 350+ packages will add a Goal Getter patch, GS Charm Bracelet, T-shirt, flashlight with bling lanyard, and Tapeffiti kit to their list of awesome prizes.
Top Tip of the Week: Share Cookie Goal Stats with Girls Be sure to provide girls with their current cookies sold total (door-to-door plus booth sale credit) now. Girls can use COCO this week to reach their goals, to review girl rewards earned so far, check for cookie orders, send additional e-cards, sell virtual cookie share and contact customers for their final refills! No one wants to find out after the program they were just a few packages away from a prize. Check in with your girls today!

500+ Club Girl's Day Out at Boomers-April 5, 2014. Have a blast at this private part for girls complete with bumper boats, games, picnic lunch, event patch and more!
750+ Club Outdoor Adventure Day-May 10, 2014. Board the bus for Camp Scherman as you and your guardian embark on a full day adventure complete with canoeing, archery, craft, event patch, lunch & dinner!
1000+ Club San Diego Zoo Experience-June 14, 2014. Experience the zoo Girl Scout style with admission for girl & guardian, celebratory lunch festivities, a chance to see a real Red Panda and special patch!
Troop Proceeds Update We are close to achieving the first proceeds jump. If each Troop sells just 2 more cases every Troop's proceeds will jump from 68 to 71 cents! Now is the time to reach new customers door-to-door and go back to previous customers with the reminder "Last Chance to buy Girl Scout cookies for a whole year!" And don't forget to check COCO for online orders girls need to deliver.
Who Will Be This Year's Top Seller? Today's Top Seller is Ruby M from Cadette Troop 2007 with 1884 packages has earned herself a Beach Cruiser Bicycle! Jacey in Junior Troop #2705 is still in the lead for top seller in Snap of Council's Cookie Share service project. Check out our list of 199 girls who have already sold 500 or more packages!
Find The Mystery House! Girl Scouts selling door-to-door this week can search for a Mystery House (or apartment or condo!) to receive a certificate and a special, exclusive Mystery House patch! Congratulations to Kennedy & Madeline who have already earned their patch! New houses have been added! Here are some hints to find remaining houses!

Breathe Journey Series - Starts Mar. 23
Join other Girl Scout Cadettes in Orange County to take the Breathe Leadership journey in this unique series. Girls will earn the Aware, Alert, and Affirm awards as they explore the air around while participating in activities involving aromatherapy, cooking, art & more!
Newport-Mesa Spirit Run - Mar 23 
Lace up your running sneakers and get ready to be active and healthy with your family and friends in Newport Beach! Stop by the Girl Scout table wearing your Girl Scout green for some race day swag! Return with your finisher's medal and get a patch- check out the flyer for details and badge ideas!
First Aid Badge for Juniors - Apr 5
Earn your First Aid Badge for juniors at this event hosted by nursing students at Concordia University!
Build a Bear Workshop Spring Community Service - Apr 12
Come to the Build-A-Bear Workshop in Downtown Disney to build some friends that will help spread cheer and encourage kids to Never Ever Give Up! Girl Scouts of all ages are invited to come build a customized cheerful new bear friend at a 10% discount then donate it to The Jessie Rees Foundation to deliver to a child who is in the hospital.
Girl Scout Gold Award Project Proposal Support Meeting - Apr 13
Girl Scout Seniors and Ambassadors are invited to drop in anytime between 2-3:30 PM to ask questions about their initial Project Proposal for the Girl Scout Gold Award. This is a chance to check in with members of the Gold Award Support Group and prepare for the interview. GAM - May 16-18 
This competitive boating, swimming and nautical event at Newport Dunes that is a long-standing GSOC tradition, whether you come to showcase your skills or to test the waters, fun is guaranteed!
National Endangered Species Day - May 16
This is a great opportunity to advocate for and educate others about endangered species all around us like the Western Snowy Plover or the California Jewelflower. Girls focusing on conservation regarding plants and animals in their leadership journeys may want to use this time of year to spread awareness and even find out more facts here.
Girl Scouts Celebrate our Newsmakers - June 1
Join us at the Anaheim Hilton for our annual recognition brunch honoring the accomplishments and contributions of our very own Girl Scouts. Girls and adults will be honored. Registration will open on April 1, 2014.
Girl Scouts Day at Angels Stadium - June 7
Registration for the Angels Game Parade is now OPEN! This annual event is a great way to bring the whole family out to the ballgame while proudly supporting the Girl Scouts of Orange County!

Don't forget that you can use your cookie dough to pay for camp. Come up and experience camp as a troop during a weekend camp or for your own adventure during a weekend camp with you and your parent.
