Camp Scherman Open House - June 23

Ready to get out and explore? We have some free outdoor adventure planned for you! Troops of all levels, families and friends, everyone is welcome. You'll be able to tour the camp (guided or self-led), meet the staff and ask questions, and have fun with staff-led activities include canoeing, and crafts. Camp Scherman is waiting for you!

Girl Advisor Applications Due May 5

Are you ready to advocate for Girl Scouts in the community by being a girl advisor to the GSOC Board of Directors?  If you are currently a Girl Scout in the ninth, tenth, or eleventh grade and are interested in planning for the future of Girl Scouting, then this may be the opportunity for you!  Apply online

Celebrate our Magic Makers

Make Magic at a reduced price if your RSVP is postmarked by this Wednesday, May 1!  Join us on Sunday, June 2 at the Disneyland Hotel for 'Girl Scouts Celebrate Our Magic Makers' Recognition Event.  Early bird pricing:  $30 adult, $15 girl.  After May 1:  $35 adult, $20 girl.  May 1 is also the deadline for honoree photo and Opportunity Basket donations to be included in our program.      

  

Volunteers Receive President's Award 
We are proud to recognize the Imagine Series Volunteers and the OWLS of Fullerton with our prestigious President's Award at our upcoming Magic Makers Recognition Event on June 2.  Read more about these outstanding volunteer groups.

GS destinations Scoop Nights - May 2, May 7  Junior Cadette Senior Ambassador  

Join us for a scoop of ice cream and find out more about destinations individual and group travel opportunities. Application process begins in fall 2013 for following summer and winter. Trips are for Cadettes, Seniors, and Ambassadors.

 Discover Nursing Night - May 10  Junior Cadette Senior Ambassador  

Join Saddleback Nursing students for this workshop designed to discover nursing as a career! The workshop will include demonstrations of skills nurses perform, basic physical assessment, hand hygiene/infection control, basic first aid and allergic reaction treatment.

Ripple Kids in Action - June 2   Brownie Junior Cadette  

Not only can you work on four different community service projects in one place, there are also other free, fun activities for the whole family!

Ropin' and Riding - June 25-29  Cadette  

Beginner and Intermediate riders will lasso in the fun as you develop and perfect your skills at knot tying and horsemanship. Learn to saddle, groom, and care for the horses at Camp Scherman. With an emphasis on instruction and arena riding, develop and strengthen your know how of mounting, dismounting and riding positions. While away from the horses, try your hand at archery, crafts or canoeing on the lake.  For girls entering grades 6-8.

Picture This - June 25-29  Junior Cadette 
Be inspired by the breathtaking mountain views as you learn how to take the perfect photograph. Get familiar framing the shot and find out the best ways to photograph landscapes, nature, and people on your digital camera. Upload the photos and learn some basic editing techniques so you have some frame worthy photographs to hang on your wall when you go home. Girls must provide their own digital camera. 
For girls entering grades 4-6.

Just Keep Swimming - June 29- July 3  Brownie
Do you like to swim, and need help with the basics? Camp Scherman's pool is the place to be! Have fun learning to swim and enjoy other camp activities such as archery, hiking, or arts and crafts! While at camp, our certified staff will help build your swimming confidence as you have fun in the water. More information can be found here.
For girls entering grades 2-3.

Me and My Guy - June 14-16 and Sept 27-29  Everyone  

Pack your car and head up to the mountains for a special weekend just for dads or "special guy" and your Girl Scout!  

 

Night Owls - Sept 27-29  Cadette Senior Ambassador  

Do you like to stay up late? Experience the wonders of camp after the sun goes down! We will fill your evenings with nighttime adventures as you experience parts of Camp Scherman as only the night can provide. Sleep in before enjoying a few daytime activities too. More information can be found here.  

 

Fall Fun Spend a Day - Oct 12 Everyone  spend a day at camp scherman

Come join us for a day full of fun and adventure for the entire family. Canoe together on our lake, aim for the bulls eye and pick some tasty treats from our flourishing garden. Put on your walking shoes and pack up the family for a day of fun and family togetherness.

Troop 2399 of Fullerton made "Autism Speaks" bears at the Build-a-Bear Workshop to donate to "Fullerton Cares" an organization that brings awareness, acceptance and special needs programs for children with Autism in the Fullerton school district.
