ANNOUNCEMENTS

Thank You to our Dedicated Volunteers! This week is Volunteer Appreciation Week, so we want to thank all of our wonderful adult volunteers. In addition, today is Girl Scout Leader's Day, which honors all the volunteers who work as leaders and mentors for girls. So, thank you to every volunteer and leader who has worked tirelessly to help girls achieve their full potential and grow to become "girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place!"
Personal and Financial Planning Workshops
If something unexpected were to happen to you and/or your family, is your important information readily available for those who will need it? Girl Scouts is offering a series of Personal and Financial Planning Workshops as a complimentary service to all members, alumnae and community
friends. Click here for more information and to sign up to attend.
Girl Scouts Commits to Financial Literacy for Girls A new report by the Girl Scout Research Institute reveals that girls feel optimistic about their financial futures, yet are less than fully knowledgeable about essential financial principles and instruments, from using credit cards to establishing good credit. Spotlight on Mentoring Awards: Cadette Program Aide
Girl Scout Mentoring Awards give girls the opportunity to develop leadership skills and to share their skills, passions, and interests by acting as a mentor, working with, guiding and teaching younger girls. Step 2 of the Cadette Program Aide Mentoring Award is to participate in council leadership training.
Program Aide Training Now Available
Program Aide Training will help Girl Scout Cadettes in grades 6-8 prepare to work directly with younger girls over six activity sessions (for example: assisting Girl Scout Daisies, Brownies, or Juniors with Journey activities or badge activities as part of a troop, series, event, or camp pathway experience). Going beyond simply volunteering to help, girls will gain skills to take on leadership roles in planning and implementing activities for younger girls. Steps for earning the Cadette Program Aide Award are found on page 30 in The Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting for Cadettes.
All Program Aide Trainings are from 8 am - 5 pm. Girls attend one date to complete the training.
