The time to register your troop for Troop Management has passed, however, parents may still renew their daughters' or their own membership online through eBiz- so encourage parents to renew online if they haven't already!

 

Trainers Needed
 
Do you have experience as a leader or camping skills you'd like to share? The Girl Scout Training Team is a fun group of volunteers just like you who have a passion for sharing Girl Scout knowledge. We have trainer openings for all classes, to fit all schedules! We value your experience! Let us know you're interested by completing the online Council Trainer Interest Form. We hope to see you in the front of the room soon!

 

Nominate Girl Scouts for The Container Store Contribution

You can also nominate Girl Scouts at any of The Container Store location. Ten nonprofits will win $1000 cash plus a $1000 elfaź Makeover from The Container Store - and Girl Scouts of Orange County could be one of them!

  Fall Product Program

 

Join the Fall Product Program through Nov. 10

How can girls earn funds for troop activities, do a service project and participate in skill building activities all at once?  By participating in our Fall Product Program - the easy way for new troops to get started!  Online training is available for nuts and for our magazine Quick Start option with no money to handle, forms to process or product to deliver.  Check out our Fall Product Blog for helpful hints & resources.

 

Earn A GS Tablecloth or Early Access to Cookie Booth Scheduler

Troops grossing $850 or more in the Fall Product Program who did not participate in 2011 will receive a Girl Scout tablecloth. Troops grossing $1,500 or more in the Fall Product Program will earn 24 hour early access to the Booth Scheduler for the 2013 Cookie program.  

 

Fall Product Program Recognition Display Available

Event Coordinators or Troops may reserve the 2012 Fall Product recognition display to share with their girls. Get an up close look at this year's cool prizes! Contact jkillinger@GirlScoutsOC.org to reserve.

2013 Prudential Spirit of Community Awards Juniors Cadettes shorthand - seniorsshorthand ambassadors 

This program recognizes middle level and high school youth for volunteer work in their communities.  Girl Scout Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors in grades 5-12 who have earned the Bronze, Silver, or Gold Awards would be excellent candidates.  Deadline to apply online is November 6, 2012.  Learn more

"The Girl Scout Way" Video Contest Everyone 

The deadline of Oct. 31 is quickly approaching . . . we have a great time planned for the winner(s) to come and "play" with the tools that the pros at Post Factory use for creating commercials that you see on TV!  Here's a recent entry.  If you have any questions, please contact us at training@girlscoutsoc.org or 949.461.8851.

Join Our "Goal Getter" Wall Everyone

Girl Scouts of all ages are invited to post their Fall Product sales & learning goals on the Council's Goal Getter Wall at our headquarters in Irvine or via email to nuts@GirlScoutsOC.org. 

Discover Nursing Night - Nov. 2 Everyone

Join Saddleback Nursing students for this workshop designed to discover nursing as a career, held in Saddleback College's state of the art Health Sciences/Nursing Skills Lab.  Participants will work towards completing the requirements for the First Aid Badge and Safety Award and learn about nursing, educational requirements, demonstrations of skills nurses perform, basic first aid, and creating a service project. 
Understanding the Native American Badge Event

Experience the Bowers Kidseum as you create a  coil pot, make sand art, taste traditional foods, and enjoy a Pow Wow with Native American dancers to earn your UNA badge! Space is limited, register today!
Peter Pan- You're Flying - Jan. 26 Everyone
Sprinkle on some pixie dust and get ready for a fun adventure in Neverland! Girl Scouts are invited to a special pre-performance workshop with cast members and Cathy Rigby's Peter Pan play at the Pantages theater. Please keep in mind that this is the same date as our Cookie Mega Drop. Please make plans accordingly.

Songs, Skits and S'mores - Nov. 16-18 master campers

Do you like to sing and be in the spotlight?  Join us for a weekend of endless singing, skits and our special Saturday night S'MORES! In addition to singing songs while walking through camp, you can paddle your way across the lake, take aim at archery, learn a variety of skits and take home your very own skit book!  The following Badge steps will be completed during this weekend camp:

Daisy:  Orange Petal

Junior:  Animal Habitats - Step 1; First Aid - Step 1

Brownie through Ambassador:  Girl Way - Step 1

 

Artrageous - Nov. 16-18

Pom poms, glue, and sequins...oh my! Love arts and crafts and creating a masterpiece? We have the perfect weekend for you! Come to Camp Scherman to make your own creations or have fun with tie-dye, leather crafts and beading creations. But don't get too comfortable inside, enjoy a ton of outdoor activities too like canoeing, archery, fun hikes around camp and even a skit at campfire!  The following Badge steps will be completed during this weekend camp:

Junior:  Drawing - Step 3

Cadette:  Book Maker - Step 4

Conflict Resolution Workshops

Knowing how to handle conflict is an important part of any leader's role.  In this workshop, skills such as communication, understanding conflict styles, and conflict resolution are geared to Girl Scout leaders, and to the aMuse Journey, to help prepare you to handle future encounters with adults and girls.  This workshop will be offered three times at different locations:
