An evening of Art, Wine & Conversation with PHOTO NIGHTS BOSTON will take place this Friday, March 1, from 5:30 to 7:30 at ARS LIBRI (500 Harrison Ave). Witness, our current exhibition of modern and vintage prints by photographer BRUCE DAVIDSON, will provide an exceptional platform for the evening.

Guests will have the opportunity to meet members of Photo Nights Boston's Executive Board and discuss the future of public art in Boston. Please note: this event was originally scheduled for February 8, but was postponed due to inclement weather.

With the arrangement of prints at Ars Libri, writes Robyn Day of BIG RED & SHINY ,
[t]he eye moves gracefully from one print to the next, following the shapes of bodies and gestures; outstretched arms and hands, especially, orchestrate this natural movement. It's almost like watching a dance unfold. And it is a decidedly working-class ballet, with counterparts at the Robert Klein Gallery in jukeboxes and couples holding each other close.

In an exclusive interview, Jonas Cuénin of LE JOURNAL DE LA PHOTOGRAPHIE met with Davidson in his apartment on the Upper West Side. Of the series East 100th Street, Davidson says:
Well, my mother was single; she worked in a torpedo factory during the war. We lived with an uncle. We were basically poor as well. I was always in touch with need. I think I always had this empathy for people who are disfranchised, challenged in some way.
