The Florida Commission on the Status of Women will unite with leaders and organizations from across Florida to recognize and address the importance of women's economic contributions, and to acknowledge Florida as among the best states in economic opportunities for women. Florida is a pacesetter nationally in pay equity, having the 4th highest in the nation in ratio of women's income versus men's, as well as being 4th in the country in the number of women owned businesses.

The Florida Commission on the Status of Women feels it is important to commemorate this day by uniting leaders and organizations from across the state who are working to address the needs of women to allow them to have the financial freedom they deserve.  The Florida Commission on the Status of Women is dedicated to empowering women in achieving their fullest potential and to eliminating barriers to that achievement.
