HELP MALAMA MAUNA KEA!

Join us on Saturday, August 23 to help take care of Maunakea and restore the native habitat at the 9,500 foot elevation surrounding the visitor center at Halepohaku. The Office of Mauna Kea Management's August volunteer effort will again focus on continuing invasive plant removal around Halepohaku.

The day begins as usual at 8 am in Hilo with transportation provided to the site. For West Hawaii volunteers, plan to meet up at Halepohaku about 9:00 am.

We will have our usual day of activities with an invasive weed pull followed by lunch and refreshments. After lunch we'll discuss some of the amazing scientific and resource issues of Maunakea.

We will head down the mountain about 2:30pm and be back to Hilo by 3:30 pm.

Email [email protected] to sign up to volunteer.
