For the past four years, I've been writing in a weekly class by means of a unique practice called Contemplative Writing. First we meditate for 10 minutes. Then we receive a prompt like Beginnings, or I am thinking about..., or What Will Never Happen Again?, or a favorite moment with a bowl of soup. Then, we put pen to paper. Go. We are guided to write for 20 minutes, without stopping, without editing, without looking back. I most often do it in a weekly group, but I also write this way in retreats and on my own.

Recently, in the New York Times Health Section, Tara Parker-Pope's article, Writing Your Way to Happiness, connected the dots for me on just how healing the telling of our story can be.

Antibiotic resistance is a serious threat facing all of us today. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), "antimicrobial resistance (AMR) threatens the effective prevention and treatment of an ever-increasing range of infections caused by bacteria, parasites, viruses and fungi."

Antibiotics are a foundational component of modern medicine, without which many of our current treatment modalities and medical procedures become exceedingly dangerous. We all need to be a part of the solution, using antibiotics as sparingly as possible and encouraging others to do the same.

Fortunately, research investigating various plant extracts, hoping to find alternatives to antibiotic drugs, is extremely promising. Essential oils from plants have potent antimicrobial, antibacterial, and antifungal properties. Mounting research also suggests they may be powerful enough to address diseases like cancer.(Limonene is high in all citrus oils, like lemon and tangerine.)

Research by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) Supports the Dietary Guidance in
Kristina Amelong's Ten Days to Optimal Health

Effects of Low-Carbohydrate and Low-Fat Diets: A Randomized Trial

Background: Low-carbohydrate diets are popular for weight loss, but their cardiovascular effects have not been well-studied, particularly in diverse populations.

Objective: To examine the effects of a low-carbohydrate diet compared with a low-fat diet on body weight and cardiovascular risk factors.

Setting:
A large academic medical center.

Participants: 148 men and women without clinical cardiovascular disease and diabetes.

Intervention: A low-carbohydrate (<40 g/d) or low-fat (<30% of daily energy intake from total fat [<7% saturated fat]) diet. Both groups received dietary counseling at regular intervals throughout the trial.

Measurements: Data on weight, cardiovascular risk factors, and dietary composition were collected at 0, 3, 6, and 12 months.

Results: Sixty participants (82%) in the low-fat group and 59 (79%) in the low-carbohydrate group completed the intervention. At 12 months, participants on the low-carbohydrate diet had greater decreases in weight (mean difference in change, −3.5 kg [95% CI, −5.6 to −1.4 kg]; P = 0.002), fat mass (mean difference in change, −1.5% [CI, −2.6% to −0.4%]; P = 0.011), ratio of total-high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (mean difference in change, −0.44 [CI, −0.71 to −0.16]; P = 0.002) and triglyceride level (mean difference in change, −0.16 mmol/L [−14.1 mg/dL] [CI, −0.31 to −0.01 mmol/L {−27.4 to −0.8 mg/dL}]; P = 0.038) and greater increases in HDL cholesterol level (mean difference in change, 0.18 mmol/L [7.0 mg/dL] [CI, 0.08 to 0.28 mmol/L {3.0 to 11.0 mg/dL}]; P < 0.001) than those on the low-fat diet.

CONCLUSION: The low-carbohydrate diet was more effective for weight loss and cardiovascular risk factor reduction than the low-fat diet. Restricting carbohydrate may be an option for persons seeking to lose weight and reduce cardiovascular risk factors.

Weight Loss and Petrochemical Release

Weight loss can release stored petrochemicals throughout your body, which can cause cellular damage.
To support your body to remove petrochemicals, take the enema series with Young Living Citrus Fresh Essential Oil added to your coffee enema. Thirty minutes prior to the coffee enema and at the time of the coffee enema, take Standard Process's Chlorophyll Complex.

D-limonene
, a chemical constituent in all citrus oils, literally digests petrochemicals. (When you apply lemon juice or essential oil to a balloon, it will pop, and when you apply it to a foam cup, it will disintegrate the material.)

D-limonene content of citrus oils:
  • grapefruit: 88-95%
  • orange: 85-96%
  • tangerine: 85-93%
  • lemon: 59-73%
D-limonene's activity is in part due to the induction of phase I and phase II detoxification enzymes.

We are exposed to petrochemicals through our contact with plastic bags, oral contraceptives, adhesives, herbicides, lipstick, couches, water bottles, foam drinking cups, laminate floors, sunscreen, cleaning supplies, fingernail polish, automotive belts, electronics, shower doors, drapery, emulsifier in soap, speaker grills, car exhaust, ink pens, mascara, plastic food wrap, car moldings, and dental sealants (to name a few).

Petrochemicals in the body can be a factor in adult onset erectile dysfunction and can cause a 400% increased risk of sperm reduction. Petrochemicals can also cause or contribute to obesity, heart disease, adult onset diabetes, uterine damage, fibroids, endometriosis, cystic ovaries, an increased risk of breast, uterine, and ovarian cancers, estrogen dominance, shortened reproductive lifespan of females, miscarriages, leaky gut, thyroid abnormalities, and autoimmune disease.

"Recently I ordered and received a Silicone Smooth Flow Higginson & Hose Colon Cleansing System and I wanted you to know that I've owned the cheaper type of Higginson syringes before but NOTHING compares to this product! The flow it produces is wonderful. I've purchased other items from you before as well, and have never been dissatisfied except for one item which I purchased, and that was my fault for not having properly researched the item.

In closing, I just want to say thank you so much for keeping your site and services available to us. It makes many of us feel so very secure knowing we have a reliable and ethical place to shop for our needs."

Young Living Essential Oil Rectal Suppositories

What is an essential oil rectal suppository?

An essential oil rectal suppository is plant medicine delivered into the rectum, where it melts and is absorbed into the bloodstream. These do-it-yourself (DIY) suppositories offer healing plant compounds both systemically and locally. Essential oils are transporters of fundamental nutrients necessary to feed and nurture all the cells of the body.

************************************

Why deliver the Young Living essential oils through the colon?

We use Young Living essential oils in the colon because of the rectum's ability to rapidly absorb the plant's chemical constituents through its mucosal surfaces, because of the greater amounts of lymphoid tissue in the colon than in the stomach and the small intestines, and because the pH levels in the rectum are much more optimal than the pH levels of the stomach.

How to Make Young Living Essential Oil Rectal Suppositories

In a rounded ice cube tray, fill each cup of the tray 1/3 to 1/2 full of organic, extra-virgin, unrefined, melted coconut oil. (At cooler temperatures, coconut oil is solid so you may need to first set your coconut oil in hot water to melt it.) After you've filled each section, put the ice cube tray in the freezer for one to two hours.

Now remove the ice cube tray. Then, carefully dispense your essential oil drops into the top of that coconut oil section. How much oil you use depends on which oils or oil blends you are using and what issue you are working with in the body. See Suppository Recipes for specific amounts of the oils. But, generally, we recommend between two and three drops per essential oil. Sometimes a single suppository might have up to eight different oils in its mixture. In this case, you would use between six to ten total drops of the Young Living essential oils. Once the essential oil is on the top of the frozen coconut oil, fill up the rest of the ice cube tray section with more coconut oil.

Put the tray in the freezer for a couple more hours.

Living Fuel Meal Replacement
Super Food

Living Fuel SuperGreens and Living Fuel SuperBerry are foundational foods that provide the body with nutrient-dense ingredients to allow the body to work at optimal levels.

Living Fuel is a complete meal replacement that can help optimize weight. It can also be used as a multi-vitamin complex when taking one scoop a day.

2. What is the difference between Super Greens and Super Berry?

Besides taste, the difference is in the main foods. There are about 7 to 8 main foods in both. In Super Greens, six of these foods are vegetable complexes such as broccoli, spinach, kale, carrot, barley grass, and spirulina. In Super Berry, four of these foods are berry complexes such as blueberries, strawberries, raspberries and cranberries.

Super Greens is more alkaline-forming due to the natural make-up of green super foods; the Super Berry has higher antioxidant levels due to the berry complex.

Both are phenomenal products that feed the body everything it needs to run at an optimal level. A full meal serving of Living Fuel is made up of two scoops of either flavor, or one of each to make one powerful Super Smoothie.

3. Is one better than the other?

Super Greens and Super Berry are both filled with the proper nutrient-dense foods to provide the body with the ultimate in nutrition. Both are nutrient-dense, all-natural, low-calorie, and low-glycemic. Both can be used in the exact same way and are a fantastic way to fuel your day. And try mixing the two together to get the advantages of both with each serving.

4. How does Living Fuel taste?

Some people love the taste of Super Greens with just water, while others take a little time getting used to it. Most people find Super Berry a great way to start their Living Fuel lifestyle program, and typically drink it with only water or in a smoothie. Experiment with different Living Fuel recipes and give yourself some time to get accustomed to the taste, texture, and color. Remember, Super Greens gives you unequaled levels of vegetables, Krebs-cycle bionutrients, and botanical extracts. Many people, from babies to teenagers to seniors, who may have started out wrinkling their noses at Super Greens, are now regular users. There's no debate about one thing: you'll love the way it makes you look and feel.
