Small Business Saturday

Small Business Saturday is a great time to get great deals while supporting local businesses.   

 

Visits with Santa at White Furniture from 12:00 noon to 3:00 pm. "Joe Bucks" giveaways all day long. Complementary gift wrap for gifts purchased at Wyandotte Businesses at the Axe n Ladder Deli, 3203 Biddle Avenue from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm.

 

The Salvation Army will be hosting a canned food drive at the clock tower. Those who donate will receive a raffle ticket for a gift basket. Street musicians will be performing intermittently throughout the day. The horse and carriage will be operating from 12:00 am to 3:00 pm and the trolley will be operating from 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.  Maps of specials and promotions will be available at River's Edge Gallery, 3024 Biddle Avenue.

Bring your wishes to the man in red himself, live and in person! He's making his list, make sure you're on it.

Saturday, November 30th from 12 noon to 3 p.m. and every Friday in December from 6 to 9 p.m. at White Furniture, 3025 Biddle.

Get Caught Shopping & Win Joe Bucks!

Joe Bucks are gift certificates redeemable at participating Wyandotte businesses until January 15th, 2014.

 

The Downtown Development Authority and Mayor Peterson will be jointly giving away Joe Bucks to random shoppers in Wyandotte on November 30th, December 6th, 13th and 20th to help stimulate the holiday economy this season. 

 

Joe Bucks may be used between December 6th, 2013 and January 15th, 2014.  If we catch you shopping in Downtown Wyandotte on one of the days listed above, you could be a Joe Bucks winner.  

Festive Fridays

Join us for Festive Fridays!

 

Visits with Santa at White Furniture from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. "Joe Bucks" giveaways all night long. Street musicians will be performing intermittently throughout all evenings. The horse and carriage and the trolley will be operating from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm each night.  The Downriver Council for the Arts (DCA) is located in the James R. DeSana Center for Arts & Culture and the Winter Wonderland and Holiday Boutique will be open on Friday nights in December until 8 p.m. 

 

Reindeer at the corner of Biddle and Sycamore on Friday, December 13th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  

Complementary gift wrap at Total Health, 2938 Biddle Avenue for gifts purchased at Wyandotte Businesses on Friday, December 20th from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. 

 

Hope on the trolley on Friday, December 20th and visit the Wyandotte Museums Christmas Open House or the annual St. Vincent Pallotti Christmas at St. Patrick's Christmas Concert at 7 p.m.


Museum Christmas Open House

Join us for a special holiday celebration at the Ford-MacNichol Home.  Step back in time with us as we recreate a turn-of-the-century Christmas with the custom and d�cor of days gone by.  Warm yourself by the fire as you enjoy the traditions of holiday yesteryear! 

Friday, December 20th from 5:30pm to 8:30pm and Saturday, December 21st from 12pm to 4pm.

On Friday, December 20, in cooperation with Downtown Wyandotte's Third Friday festivities, pick up the trolley in Downtown Wyandotte on Friday, December 20th, to visit us at the Museum for a special Evening Open House.  Trolley only runs Friday evening.

Holiday Boutique

Avoid the holiday crowds and support local artists, crafters and vendors on Saturday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Downriver Council for the Arts located in the James R. DeSana Center for Arts & Culture, 81 Chestnut.
 
Find one of a kind, handmade gifts for everyone on your list - and maybe even a little something for yourself!  
 
Some items available include jewelry, quilted totes, paintings, mosaic mirrors, journals, baby items, handmade soaps and lotions and much much more!

New Trash Requirements

Wyandotte City Council adopted Ordinance #1389 which requires a metal, durable plastic, or approved container of equal material to be used for the collection of solid waste.  The Ordinance takes effect FEBRUARY 1, 2014.  PLASTIC BAGS WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED AS A CONTAINER FOR TRASH.

 

Plastic bags may be placed inside your container.  With the exception of toters leased from the City, containers must be 32 gallons or less and have a water tight, fly-proof and odor-proof cover.  There is a maximum weight limit of sixty (60) pounds for the container. Containers that do not meet these requirements will not be collected.  

 

Containers shall not be placed for collection before 6:00 p.m. of the day proceeding the day scheduled for collection, but no later than 5:00 am on your collection day and all empty containers shall be removed no later than 8:00 p.m. of the day following collection.
