This afternoon at approximately 1:00 pm the chlorine alarm at the Plainfield Road & Cass Avenue water tower indicated a chlorine leak. 

The water plant operators for the City responded and determined that the leak should be handled by the fire department-hazardous material team. There were evacuations of the adjacent businesses and we anticipate the leak to be contained by 3:30.

There is no threat to the water system or life.
