Community Alert - Attempted Child Abduction
On 11-17-15 at 4:20 pm a 10 year old female who attends Marker Elementary in Westmont and is in 5th grade she was getting off at her bus stop at 67th and Ridge, it was a late bus and she was the only child who got out at that stop. Moments later a newer looking, clean, dark gray 4 door vehicle pulled up next to her and a male began talking to her.  The male asked her "what is your name sweetheart" and also asked if she wanted a ride home?  She stated she ran directly home, the subject was last seen travelling towards Cass Ave.  There was a delay of 3 hours before it was reported to the Darien Police Department.
 
The description of the male is as follows: 
 
Male black in his 40's with a short afro who spoke with a slang accent.  The victim related she had never seen this subject before and does not know what type of vehicle he was driving and did not get a license plate.
 
The Darien Police Department is investigating this incident and will have extra patrols in the area.
