COMMUNITY ALERT - SUSPICIOUS PERSONS

On July 7, 2015 at 2:04a.m., the Darien Police responded to the 800 block of Andermann Lane for the report of two suspicious persons in a back yard of a residence. A dog in the residence alerted the homeowner who saw his rear screen door open and two subjects standing by the locked rear door. The subjects fled after the porch light was turned on. Police and a K-9 searched the area without success. Both subjects were wearing dark clothes, hoods, and possibly gloves.

We would encourage residents to follow good security practices. This includes making sure doors and windows are locked before going to bed. Interior lights can be set on a timer to turn on as evening lighting diminishes. Exterior porch and garage lights can be left on to provide a deterrence.

The Darien Police would also encourage residents to dial 911 if they notice anything suspicious in your neighborhood. This can include vehicles that do not look familiar to the neighborhood or suspicious people walking around. These are the types of suspicious activity that the Darien Police would want to be immediately notified on.
