Networking responsibilities
Recently a friend shared an article called "The Alumni Network." I was pleased to see it made several similar points on building a career network to those made in KNH daily. One thought that has stayed with me is about taking responsibility: "It's one thing to make the connection; but it's the person who has to capitalize on that opportunity" (Professor Magnus Bernhardsson, Williams College). This builds on what I wrote in The Power of Everyday Networking: "Responsibility starts and ends with you and is the foundation of success in everything you do." A good lesson to learn when building a network.
