He was for 12 years Technical Director of the Icelandic Football Association (2002-14) and also Head Coach of the Icelandic Women's Team from 2006 until 2013 
He is credited with helping to create the current Icelandic Soccer Miracle which has produced the following results from a population of 325,000 people
