'Vorsprung durch Technik'

www.fussball.de

In April of this year during a visit to the German FA (DFB) in Frankfurt I had the opportunity of seeing a preview of the DFB's new website (www.fussball.de ) which they launched two weeks ago at the end of July 2014

The site brings together the functions of player and coach registration, online team management, match reporting, social media and online learning.

It hosts the official results and statistics from the 80,000o amateur matches played in Germany each week. These results and statistics are published in real time, exclusively on fussball.de, as soon as the final whistle is blown!! On top of all that, the services offered to regional associations, clubs, players, coaches and volunteers have been greatly expanded, as have the possibilities for these groups to interact: every player and coach now has the opportunity to create and maintain their own online player profile. There are also whole sections devoted to Education and Coaching

Assuming you don't read German then you will need to use a Translation service provided by your browser. At Sports Path we use 'Google Chrome' as our browser so it's easy to use 'Google Translate' to translate a web page in seconds.

Some examples of this terrific FREE resource:

We would recommend you bookmark www.fussball.de and check on the progress of how the DFB builds this online learning resource: after all the DFB do have a track record of delivering results!!

We have previously highlighted the report on German Youth Academies  and I am indebted to my friend Steve Darby for sharing the official DFB presentation on the German Coach Education Structure

You may also like to consider learning German online via the BBC - view here or learning specific soccer words in German here

P.S. It is worth noting that there is virtually no Futsal played in Germany ( less than 0.5% of all registered players ) This isn't meant to sound like a criticism of the excellent growing game of Futsal which has many followers -but just that it isn't played  to any great degree in Germany

It focuses on the individual analysis of a player and the contribution that analysis can play within a purposeful coaching programme. Performance analysis has made the authors better coaches and we expect it will do the same for you. Produced by coaches for coaches it has been designed to allow the reader to interact with video, illustrations, diagrams, tables and charts. Here are some reviews from this course :

  • Rocky Castillo,Coach New Yor/New Jersey,USA

"This course is a great introduction to many resources and tools available on the Internet. I am a begginer in terms of creating content, and all the information available in this course is relevant and easy to understand and follow. Even though the possibilities and the resources are overwhelming, by taking this course I think I am better prepared to move on forward to create content."

  • Rory Grand, Coach Thailand
"I felt this course did what it said and I have to say I learnt a few things, which was better then nothing. I would of liked to see how to use web etc to integrate within your coaching sessions. I coach in Thailand at a top professional academy but being from the UK the language barrier sometimes causes confusion, so learning new techniques would be helpful. As far as the course content goes it was pretty solid and should give people not familiar in this area the tools needed to improve and advertise there online presence "

  • Nick D' Amore; Academy Director, Australia

"Overall a course well worth doing and the guides that you have shown will save me hours of time"
