Numatics Introduces 501 Series Directional Control Valves

Numatics logo

Features high flow in a compact 11mm package

Numatics 501 Series directional control valve. The general purpose automation valve is designed for directional control and piloting applications requiring compact size, high flow capability, and energy savings. The new 501 Series valve delivers up to two times greater flow than previous models.

The new sub-base mounted valve is well suited for in-panel valve piloting applications. Its high flow rate, compact size, and optional mounting plate enable efficient use of cabinet space. A dual three-way version enables the placement of two, three-way valves in the space of a four-way valve.

Innovative graphic display for easy commissioning, status and diagnostics

Numatics also has introduced an affordable electronics platform for the Numatics 501/503 Series valves. This new 580 node platform allows the use of a fieldbus network to control the valve manifold. Its compact footprint makes it highly functional for in-panel environments. The 580 platform incorporates a plain-language digital display and diagnostics that indicate status for easy configuration and commissioning.

Supported Protocols

  • DeviceNet™
  • Ethernet/IP
  • PROFIBUS DP
  • PROFINET
  • EtherCAT®
  • EtherNet/IP™ DLR
The 501 Series directional control valve and 580 electronics platform are ideal for applications in the life science, food and beverage, high-technology, and light packaging equipment industries.

KTM contrast sensor detects print marks quickly and reliably

With its gray-tone resolution, high detection reliability with shiny media and short response time, the KTM contrast sensor make the process for packaging items quickly even more reliable.

Black and white or color, matte or shiny - with the new ASIC in the KTM contrast sensor, print marks are reliably detected on a wide range of materials.  This improved performance is particularly beneficial for shiny materials such as high-gloss foils and for low contrast and pale colors.

  • Mini housing
  • High grayscale resolution
  • Increased dynamic range
  • Static and dynamic teach-in in one variant
  • Switching frequency 15 kHz (type-dependent)
  • KTM Prime with IO-Link function
