Greetings from the Grande Strand!
I'm still working on the research for my big yearly analysis of 2015 resort property sales. Since it may take me another week or so to put this report together, I thought it best to go ahead and send out a brief newsletter so you wouldn't have to wait for my Best Buys and the usual monthly marketing and sales reports.
There are some great buying opportunities available at the moment. The Villas at North Beach, which I've mentioned for the last several months, have now been formally announced and nonbinding reservations can be submitted. Please contact me directly if you're interested. The large new houses across the street from the beach on the north end of Myrtle Beach at The Cloisters are still available as well. Also, there is a batch of bank-owned condos in Oceans One, one of the newest oceanfront towers in Myrtle Beach, available for sale at excellent prices with buyer incentives. These have been selling well but there are still some good ones left. Take a look at the pictures - spectacular floor plans. Please contact me directly if you want more information about either of these opportunities.
If you're considering selling in the near future, we are now entering the busiest sales season of the year - as illustrated in the charts in my last two newsletters. Also, if you are a Canadian citizen, now is a great time to sell because of the exchange rate. The US dollar is at its highest level versus the Canadian dollar in over 10 years. The differential is almost 40% more than it has been for most of the last eight years. This is bad news if you're planning to purchase in the US but great news if you're planning to sell an asset that you own in the US. I'm certainly not an expert on this but at least one of my clients has chosen to list his property for sale this spring specifically to take advantage of this situation.
Finally, and it's painful to mention this, my Clemson Tigers couldn't quite pull it off against Alabama despite an impressive performance. But with Deshaun Watson and all of the key offensive players back next year, watch out!
That's it for now.
