Greetings from Myrtle Beach,


First of all, we've had some unusually severe winter weather here lately but it's nothing compared to what a number of my clients throughout the country have faced. Please be safe and let's hope spring gets here soon!

We're gearing up for a huge weekend on the Grand Strand. This is always one of the busiest "offseason" times of the year. Lots of people visit for Valentine's Day. This is also a holiday weekend (Presidents' Day on Monday). On top of that, the Myrtle Beach Marathon is Saturday morning!


I include a number of local real estate market reports in this newsletter each month. These reports are useful for spotting general market trends but I've always wanted to separate out the oceanfront condos to see if their market stats were different from the rest of the market. Oceanfront vs. Off-Beach

Lots of reports are published each year quoting all sorts of statistics for real estate along the Grand Strand.  Every report I've seen lumps oceanfront properties in with all the rest even though it has been my experience that oceanfront properties don't necessarily behave in the same way as properties off the beach.
