Greetings from Myrtle Beach!


Summer's here! Some "locals" aren't crazy about the warm weather and throngs of vacationers but I love it. I love seeing the restaurants full and lots of people enjoying the beaches, shops, live entertainment and all the other attractions I am lucky enough to be able to enjoy all year long.


Early summer is also a busy time for real estate sales. I had 9 sales last week - my biggest one week total since the big boom a few years ago. I sent out an email mentioning a group of new listings on June 6 and, as of today, 6 of the 15 listings are already under contract - but there are still some good ones left!


An article in today's Sun News mentioned that Horry County, which includes Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach, is one of the 100 fastest growing counties in the country - ranking 73rd in population growth since 2010. To put this in perspective there are over 3000 counties in the US. Link to Horry County article 


I mentioned The Retreat at Barefoot Resort in last month's newsletter. This brand new development from the developer of North Beach Plantation offers detached homes starting at $200K. The Retreat at Barefoot Resort

The Retreat at Barefoot Village will occupy the last developable area within Barefoot Resort, one of the Grand Strand's most impressive master-planned communities. The developer is the same one that built the homes and villas in nearby North Beach Plantation - a world-class oceanfront community. The Retreat will feature similar designs and the same high quality construction.  


The Retreat offers a great affordable opportunity for a prospective second home owner or permanent resident who wants a high quality detached residence in a resort setting rather than a condo. 2BR bungalows start at $199,900 and the prices for full-sized homes range to the high $300s.
