Greetings from Myrtle Beach,
First, I apologize for getting this December newsletter out a few days late. I had the busiest December for new sales since 2005 and I'm just catching up. Hopefully, this is a sign of things to come.
As I've stated in previous newsletters, January is actually a busy month for real estate sales in our area - usually as busy as any of the summer months in terms of new contracts. It is, however, the slowest tourism month of the year. Still, it's certainly not deserted. There are plenty of "snowbirds" - monthly renters from up north - and the weekends are pretty busy, especially if the weather reports are favorable. I'm often asked what the weather is like here in the winter (as well as the rest of the year). Check out the article below for details.
If I hear the phrase "fiscal cliff" one more time, I think I'm going to scream. The last-minute deal that's been put together for the most part gave real estate a pass with little significant change for most buyers and sellers. See the summary below.
Next month I'll have a comprehensive report on the year in real estate along the Grand Strand. Also, I will be unveiling major improvements and additions to my website.
My best buy picks this month include oceanfront and ocean view houses as well as condos in The Avista, Caribbean Resort, Dunes Village, Cottages at Seventh, Island Vista, Margate at Kingston Plantation, Monterey Bay, North Tower at Barefoot Resort, Magnolia North, Magnolia Pointe, Malibu Pointe, North Shore Villas, Ocean Reef, Royale Palms, Seaside Inn and Sunrise Pointe.
Happy New Year!
