Greetings from Myrtle Beach,

 

Thanksgiving was busy at the Beach! The stores and restaurants were packed. It's a little quiet this week but there are holiday events scheduled throughout December and the Grand Strand is expecting a big month. See below for a sampling.

 

As optimism grows that the recession is gone for good and better times are here to stay, real estate sales continue to improve and several new developments have been announced. In addition, proposals for several large new attractions for the Grand Strand are being considered. Check out the details in "Optimism Fuels Big Plans".

 

Every few months, I've been featuring outstanding local real estate developments. This month's choice is The Caribbean Resort.

 

My best buy picks this month include oceanfront, oceanside and waterway houses as well as condos in The Avista, Breakers Resort, Camelot, Caribbean Resort, Dunes Village, Island Vista, Brighton and Margate at Kingston Plantation, Magnolia Pointe, Mar Vista Grande, Monterey Bay, North Beach Towers, Ocean Bay Club, Ocean Reef, Prince Resort I & II, Royale Palms, Seaside Inn, South Wind and Windy Hill Dunes.

December is always a festive month along the Grand Strand. There are holiday shows at all of the area's live theaters, a half dozen street parades, boat parades in North Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet, shopping frenzies at the area's many shops, outlet stores and malls, and New Year's Eve celebrations at just about every restaurant and bar in the area. In fact, the week between Christmas and New Years last year seemed as busy as a summer week.

The Caribbean Resort has been a vacation favorite in Myrtle Beach for over 40 years.
