First, for all my readers in the northeast, my teams' hopes and prayers are with you as you deal with the aftermath of "Superstorm" Sandy. Nature's true power was certainly on display. We hope that the recoveries of your homes, businesses, families and communities are realized as quickly as possible. Our area was lucky this time, getting some wind and rain but no damage.
Real estate sales activity in the months immediately preceding a close presidential election is usually slow in our area as potential buyers seem to be frozen by the uncertainty. This year I've barely noticed any slowdown at all. My best guess is that buyers recognize that the buying conditions are just too good to pass up, regardless of what happens in the election. This thought ties in nicely with some research I've been doing. Check out my article on how unbelievably affordable resort condos have become.
I came to work for The Hoffman Group 2 years ago, largely because it had the highest sales volume per agent of any real estate sales company on the Grand Strand - particularly for oceanfront condos which make up a large part of my business. In the last newsletter I mentioned that a large group of bank-owned condos might be hitting the market soon.
