Trees have had a tough time this year even with supplemental watering. Last year's scorching summer and another hard winter may be too much for them to tolerate. Blowing winds and frozen or dry soil make it impossible for evergreens to replace water lost from the needles. Pines: White, Austrian, Scots (Scotch).
Spruce: Colorado Blue (and cultivars), Norway (and cultivars).
Junipers: tree and shrub forms.
Arborvitae: Green Giant, Emerald Green, Degroot's Spire.
Shrubs & broadleaf evergreens: azalea, rhododendron, holly, boxwood and magnolias.
