Wiping Out Weeds
Winter perennial weed control
Although you may not see them, dandelion, clover and other broadleaf weeds
do not die off in the winter. These perennial weeds drop their seeds, which lie dormant  in the winter and sprout new weeds in early spring. To help win the war against weeds, a pre-emergent application will help to eradicate existing weeds. This application will need to be applied before a lawn goes dormant for best results.

Contact the weed control experts at
Arbor Masters® to wipe out your winter weeds.

FallSavFree Up Your Fall Weekends

Fall into savings with Arbor Masters

Crisp, cool temperatures, football games and leaves changing color are all signs that fall is finally here. Unfortunately, it also means that those beautiful leaves will soon be falling and taking over your lawn and garden beds.

It is important to prepare your lawn and landscape for winter. Leaves left on lawns over winter can smother and kill the grass. A layer of leaves can block sunlight and air, becoming a refuge for insects, mold and fungus that can harm your grass and plantings. Mulching leaves with a mower is ideal, but sometimes the amount of fallen leaves can be overwhelming.

Arbor Masters® of Kansas City provides a full range of fall maintenance services designed to free up your weekends.

  • Garden bed clean up; removal of spent annuals and leaves
  • Prune shrubs
  • Remove leaves from the yard and garden areas
  • Apply a fresh layer of mulch to protect perennial over winter

Why spend your weekends raking leaves when Arbor Masters® of Kansas City can do it for you? Contact Arbor Masters® for a free estimate for your fall clean up.

TreeHazHidden Tree Hazards
Tree with rotting root system

A trees root system is the heart of the tree, acting as the main conduit for moisture, nutrients and systemic insecticide or fertilization treatments. Without a healthy root system, a tree can become a hazard to people and to your property.

A tree with a full canopy that continues to leaf out may appear to be healthy, but there may be unseen signs that all is not well. Environmental issues such as drought or too much moisture can weaken a trees root system. Additional contributors to root decay include new construction around a tree, desalting agents from snow removal, lack of organic matter, poor drainage and insect infestations.

A Certified Arborist is trained in identifying the signs of a hazardous tree. Contact the tree care experts at Arbor Masters® and make sure your trees are safe and not a hazard to your landscape.

  • Compost those fall leaves! Add organic matter such as food scraps, grass clippings, coffee grounds and even egg shells. Be sure to turn the compost pile on a regular basis to help break down the matter into a rich, nutrient humus for your spring garden.
  • Order spring bulbs such as daffodils, tulips and hyacinth.
  • Bring indoor plants inside and apply a slow release fertilizer.
