Raiders Come From Behind for 31-28 Homecoming Win Over Simon Fraser
Southern Oregon scored a late touchdown and picked up an interception in the final minute to pull out a 31-28 comeback win over Simon Fraser Saturday afternoon at Raider Stadium. With the win, SOU improves to 4-4 on the season. Simon Fraser falls to 2-6 with the loss. SOU is Top Oregon Public University on Sierra Club "Coolest Schools" List
Southern Oregon University (SOU) jumped 61 places in this year's Sierra magazine "Coolest Schools" list, ranking #38 out of 118.
According to Sierra magazine's web site, the rankings are based on surveys that track energy supply, efficiency, food, academics, purchasing, transportation, waste management, administration, financial investments, and a catch-all called "other initiatives."
SOU's Other Initiatives submission mentioned recent funding for the remodeling of an existing campus building into a waste sorting facility as well as funding for new recycling and waste bins on campus. Students awarded National Science Foundation Research Scholarships
Environmental Studies majors Paula Richter and Sarah Rudeen have both been selected as recipients of the National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduates (REU) Scholarships. Read More
