2016 Scuttlebutt Masthead

July 5, 2016

Women like quiet men. They think they're listening.

Join Us for a Pot Luck Dinner and a Boat-In Movie
This Saturday Night!

Bring a dish and good cheer.  Dinner's at 7:00 at the KYC Clubhouse - followed
at 9:00 by the first Boat-In Movie of the summer!

The Great Outdoors Cover

The movie will be projected onto the wall of the big shed facing the front face docks,
and the soundtrack wil be broadcast on 90.3 FM.  Watch it from your boat, or pull
up a chair on the "lawn" next to the travel lift.

It's more FREE fun from Kingman Yacht Center!

We Need Volunteers ...

... to host "Countries" on the docks by their boats at the International Dock Crawl
on Saturday evening 7/16.  If you would prepare a dish or drink that represents the country cuisine of your choice, boaters would stop by to sample and chat at a
specified time during the event - so you're committing to minutes, not hours of hospitality.  If you'd like to help, Jerry Murphy would love to hear from you.

Share the Waterways and Change a Child's Life

Share the Waterways

This is a call to our boating community to join us a help to make a real difference
in a child's life.  Take a few inner-city and an adult volunteer out on your boat
for a few hours and introduce them to the experience of boating.  They will
remember it and talk about it for years!

This is the 18th year of the Share the Waterways program, originated by
Raz Parker and carried on by Dave Foynes.  Meet at Parker's Boatyard in the
morning of Tuesday, July 12th, show your guests a good time for a few hours,
and then meet back at Parker's for a BBQ cookout.
Last year we had 20 boats and 119 kids on the water!

If you can donate your time, please contact Dave Foynes at 781-307-2466,

Heard About the Scuttled Butt ...

Beginning this Saturday and continuing throughout the summer, the Watershed
Gallery will host guest artists to present their work on the Chart Room lawn
from 4-7PM.

Don't miss this opportunity to meet local artists and see their unique paintings, photography, decorative glass, jewelry, pottery and more.
