The season is now in full swing, and you may have noticed that reserving a slip or mooring at your favorite port of call has become more difficult. Boating is booming
again and that means more demand, especially at peak times.
The good news is, you can help.
Think of it as a game of musical chairs.
It's a Saturday in July. You'd like a slip in Hyannis for the night, but Hyannis
was full last night. For you to find a spot, someone must have left Hyannis
in search of a berth in - say - Nantucket. He can only get into Nantucket because someone departed for Kingman - and Kingman was able to accommodate him
because we knew you were leaving and we could rent your slip for the night.
Multiply this times thousands of boats each day at ports throughout New England.
When the music stops, anyone who didn't find a berth must search for
a spot to drop the hook.
So, you see, one of the best ways to make sure you get your reservation
is to let us know when you're leaving so we can fill someone else's
reservation request. Just call us on VHF 71 and let us
know when you expect to return.
We'll make sure there's a seat for your when the music stops.
