A Note to Our Seasonal Mooring Guests

Kingman Yacht Center provides one complimentary pennant for each mooring in our field.  We will add a second pennant at the beginning of August, the traditional start of the North Atlantic hurricane season.

If you choose to add a second pennant of your own, or once we've added a second pennant to your mooring, please secure both pennants to the same side of your boat's bow.  This will help reduce chafing and wrapping of the pennant lines around the mooring ball.

Thank you.

Meetings: None of us is as dumb as all of us.

Just Over Two Weeks Left to Enter the BassAckwards Race and Poker Run!

If you've been waiting for the last minute to enter, this is it!  Entry deadline is 8PM on Sunday, July 19th.  Our all-volunteer staff needs time leading up to the events to prepare scratch sheets, finalize menus, organize poker run stops, etc.

2012 Dancing at the Captains Party

We're sure you have some great memories of BassAckwards' past, and our team has been working hard to capture and build upon the fun for this year's events.  We're bringing back the Friday night theme party - "Hollywood through the Ages" with open bar and dinner.  The pure pursuit race is also back - everyone races in the same class to handicaps adjusted to historical finishes.  We've got decades of data, and we're determined to make it as close to a fleet-wide photo finish as possible!  One winner and, of course, one anti-winner.

We're watching the weather and talking with harbormasters and private dock owners to come up with the best series of dealer stations for the poker run.  Prizes and swag are pouring in from our sponsors.  It's going to be an epic 24 hours!

You can download the entry form from our web site by scrolling to the bottom of the page, printing the appropriate form and faxing it back to us.  Or pick one up at the office or dock house.  We'd love to count you and your crew as part of the fun on Friday and Saturday, July 24-25th!

Boat Parade 1

The KYC Boat Parade

Dress your boat for the holiday and join us at the head of the Kingman/Parkers channel at 11:00AM on Saturday.  We'll parade past the reviewing stand on the Kingman front docks, and we'll have prizes for the most patriotic and best dressed boats.  Please preregister your boat at drew@dimmick.net to be eligible for prizes.

The 3rd Annual KYC Cardboard Boat Race

Open to all Kids 16 and under, and starts on the Kingman Beach at 12:30PM on Saturday.

Design & build a boat entirely made from cardboard and duct tape.  The design tips and rules are on our web site.  We'll have prizes for:

  • Fastest Boat to Complete the Course.
  • Best in Show: Will be the most creative design with the best use of cardboard.
  • Patriotic: Most patriotic designed boat. Remember it's July 4.
  • Titanic Award: Most spectacular sinking.

Barbeque

Following the parade and boat race, Kingman Boaters meet back at the Clubhouse for an old-fashioned, family barbeque with games for the kids. Please bring a side dish to share.
