Don't Miss the 3rd Annual KYC International Dock Crawl This Saturday Afternoon!

International Flags

The 3rd annual International "Taste of the Docks Crawl" will take place all around the Kingman docks this Saturday from 4-6PM. Appetizer and drink offerings from around the world will be set up on the docks.

Held on a Sunday last year, we had a great turnout. However, it was suggested that an event on a Saturday would allow KYC members to attend without having

to worry about "beating the traffic" to get home on Sunday afternoon.  We listened and hope to see all of you for a couple hours on the docks this Saturday. No need to change any dinner/evening plans - we will be done by 6:00 and you won't need to order appetizers at dinner!

What can you expect? Food and drink samples from Italy, Mexico, Germany, Japan and the USA.  And rumor has it that all dock crawlers will be lucky enough to sample Bob Belekewicz's famous stuffed quahogs from ..."The Republic of Stuffed Quahog..."

Bring your whole family! There will be plenty of appetizers for everyone, and the event will end with hot fudge sundaes for dessert at the KYC Clubhouse.   The fun starts promptly at 4:00 PM on the face dock near Anything Goes! "Crawling route maps" will be passed out at that time.

Can you help by contributing? Call Nikki Ivers (508/566-0016) or Mary Murphy (508/274-1267). Whether you're bringing a dish or just "crawling," we look forward to seeing you Saturday!

Coast Guard Rescue

"As a lifelong boater, I can't think of anything more frightening than being far away from shore in a disabled boat.  I hope you're never faced with an emergency on the water, but if you are I can guarantee you'll never forget the relief you feel the moment you see the Coast Guard coming to your rescue.  They're there for you when you need them.  I'm asking you to be there for them - by making a gift today to the Coast Guard Foundation."

Those are the words of a Kingman Boater who, after being rescued himself,

has decided to do work through the Coast Guard Foundation to do something positive to help the families of our local Coast Guard servicemen and women.  This member of our community has anonymously offered to match the donations of other Kingman Boaters up to $32,500 to refurbish the community rec center at Air Station Cape Cod.

This is a chance for us - as boaters and members of the Kingman Community

to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of those servicemen and women - right here in our home waters - who are here for us in our times of need.  Five of us have already contributed a total of $1,300, matched to make $2,600 of the money needed.  Every dollar we donate will go directly to the $65,000 rec center restoration, and will be matched dollar for dollar by our anonymous Kingman Boater.
