There's Still Room to Join the KYC Rendezvous in Edgartown

Almost a dozen boats are scheduled to spend the holiday weekend on the Vineyard. While moorings are officially sold out, there are first-come, first-served moorings in the harbor, and the inclement forecast for the first part of the weekend may open up some prime spots.

Contact Jerry Murphy if you'd like more info on the scheduled activities.

Share the Waterways with Children from Crossroads for Kids ...

Share the Waterways

July 8th at 9:00AM at Parker's Boatyard

Started by Raz Parker when he heard of a few kids from a camp down Cape that wanted to go for a boat ride, this is the 17th year for Share the Waterways!  Dave Foynes has taken the reigns, and will host more than 100 kids from Crossroad for Kids, staff members and volunteers.

It is all works because of those of you who give of your time and boats for a few hours. The more boats we have, the more kids can get out on the water.

Please let Dave know if you can participate this year, and how many kids you can take on your boat. The kids are assigned to the boats before they arrive so it is important that we know as soon as possible if you can join us.

Contact Dave Foynes, senyof@comcast.net, or 781/307-2466.

Please Send Us Your 2014 Boater's Hurricane Plan

Arthur Forecast 7-1-14 8AM

Forecasters seem poised to name Arthur as the first storm of the 2014 Atlantic hurricane season later today, with this tropical system crossing the Outer Banks

of the Carolina's on or around the 4th of July.

While there is no cause for alarm at this point, it's got our attention, and adds a little extra urgency to our request that you submit your 2014 Boater's Hurricane Plan to us this week.

At the beginning of each boating season, all Kingman Yacht Center seasonal slip customers and Long-Term Lessees who occupy their slips must file, and have approved by management, a written Boater's Hurricane Plan. This form notifies our team of your plans for your boat in the event of a hurricane threat.  In general, boats on moorings may plan on leaving them where they are, but all Kingman Boaters should familiarize themselves with the plans and preparations outlined on our web site

We guarantee that, when a storm approaches, you are going to have questions about the safety of your vessel.  Without a doubt, both you and our marina personnel have more time to deal with and answer those questions now than we will during the hours leading up to a possible hurricane strike.

Kingman Yacht Center will evacuate the premises in the event of a hurricane mobilization, and we can only recognize the preferences indicated by you on this new, 2014 Boater's Hurricane Plan.  It would be very helpful if you would include your best e-mail address on the form so that we may communicate with you more quickly and efficiently in the future.

Please note that, if we don't have a new 2014 form on file from you, we may not be able to contact you in the event of a mobilization, we will not be responsible in any way for damage to your vessel, and we will seek reimbursement from you for any damage to marina property that may be caused by your vessel.

So please ... recognize that you are ultimately responsible for the safety of your vessel, be assured that Kingman Yacht Center will do everything in our power to help ensure your boat's safety, and help by filing your Hurricane Plan right away and getting acquainted now with what is going to happen when a storm approaches.

PLEASE CLICK HERE  TO DOWNLOAD YOUR PLAN, COMPLETE IT, AND RETURN IT TO US TODAY.
