Arizona Minor-League Hockey Execs
Go To Great Depths To Increase Sales
Arizona Sundogs majority owner Brad Fain and general manager Chris Presson were buried alive in a storage container last week in an attempt to sell 300 new season tickets. The "Buried Alive" campaign is the second such effort by the Central Hockey League affiliate of the Phoenix Coyotes.
Fain and Presson will be inside an eight-foot container with a grated cattle guard on top, which allows for air circulation and fan interaction. Last year, Fain and other Sundogs' staff members spent six days atop a scissor lift as part of their season ticket push.

A GOLDEN EXCHANGE
National Sporting Goods Association President and CEO Matt Carlson and Sports Distributors of Canada's Dale Donaldson, a member of the NSGA Board of Directors, made a friendly wager on who would win the men's hockey Gold Medal between Canada and the United States in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
A semifinal victory over the U.S. helped propel Canada to the Gold Medal. That also meant Carlson wound up wearing a Canadian Olympic hockey jersey that was presented to him by Donaldson at the 50th Annual Management Conference and 16th Annual Team Dealer Summit in Indian Wells, California.
