Carrabba's Night
We will have Carrabba's cater a fantastic buffet dinner as we do every year! Join us on Thursday, February 28th, from 6-8 pm in the Vanguard Cafetorium. Pre-paid reservations can be made at any front office. Dinner is $12 for adults and students in grades 7-12, $8 for students in grades K-6, and free for children under the age of 5. All reservations and payments must be received by February 26. There will be two dinner times to choose from: 6pm or 7pm. The band program will be auctioning off delectable homemade desserts. Plan on bidding and take one home! Our Vanguard Band will benefit greatly by all of your support, so make it a family treat, and bring the grandparents, too! |
Spring Benefit Bash Tickets
Tickets for CMCA's 3rd Annual Spring Benefit Bash go on sale soon! An email invitation to purchase tickets to attend our annual fundraising evening will be sent out next week!
This year's event will take place on Thursday, April 25th, at the Cheyenne Mountain Resort. The evening will include casino games, a delicious sit down dinner, a dessert dash, silent and live auctions, and great company! School Board Elections
The school is seeking Individuals that are interested in running for the two open seats on the Board of Directors for the 2013-2014 school year. In order to be eligible, one candidate must be a resident of D12, and have at least 50% of their eligible children enrolled in the school. The other candidate does not need to be a resident of D12, but still must have 50% of their children enrolled. Candidates must have also attended at least 3 complete Board meeting in the 12 months prior the date of candidate verification for eligibility. Click here for more information. |
Flu Season Reminders
Now that flu season is in full force, click here to review a fact sheet on Norovirus. As always, when calling your child in for a school absence, please indicate if a diagnoses of the flu or Norovirus was determined. In Nurse Miller's parental letter sent home in January, should your child have Norovirus, it is necessary that they remain home for 48 hours after they have been established as symptom free. |

When planning future appointments, please be aware of our TCAP schedule this year and make every effort to have your child present at these times:
February 26-27 Grade 3 Reading TCAP (8:00 - 10:30 A.M.)
March 12-14 Grades 3-10 TCAPs (7:30 - 11:30 A.M.)
March 19-21 Grades 3-10 TCAPs (7:30 - 11:30 A.M.) |

Junior High Spirit Week
Junior High Spirit Week will take place from February 25-March 1. Students will be allowed to dress in festive attire that week as described in more detail in this letter to parents that was sent home earlier this month. |

On Broadway Performance
The On Broadway performance has been rescheduled! Come join The Vanguard School for a night On Broadway on Tuesday, March 5, at 7:00 pm in the Vanguard Cafetorium. The concert features the high school choir and many solos, duets, and small groups performing music from Broadway shows! Admission is $1, and cash or check is accepted! |

A great way for your high school student to spend their summer is to take advantage of summer programs offered through colleges. Many of these programs offer travel opportunities, actual classes for college credit, or enrichment opportunity. Click here for a listing of some summer programs.
