News this Week

Parent Teacher Conference Scheduling

In an effort to better coordinate parent teacher conferences across our Junior High and High School, we ask that you complete this online conference scheduling form for each child in grades 7-12.  We will then contact you to confirm your conference date and time. Conferences will be around 15 minutes in length, and we will do our best to ensure that as many of your child's teachers are in attendance as possible.  Due to the complexities of scheduling, we will make appointments on a first come, first serve basis.  It is to your advantage to fill this form out as soon as possible.  The deadline for completing this form is Friday, October 19th. Please note: there is no school for students or childcare available during Parent Teacher Conferences.

PLAN/EXPLORE Testing for 9th and 10th Grades

Please click here to read a letter from College Counselor, Jill Custer, regarding PLAN and EXPLORE testing for Freshmen and Sophomores.

Drug and Alcohol Information Night
A drug and alcohol information night will be hosted for parents at Cheyenne Mountain High School Auditorium on October 24th, from 6:30-8:30 P.M. Click here for more information!

Picture Retakes
Picture retakes will be held on Tuesday, October 23rd. Please pick up your order form in the front office. You must return your unwanted photos with your new order form. Students are not permitted to wear t-shirts, tank tops, spaghetti straps, blue jeans, or any blue jean articles of clothing. Students, K-8, will be required to change into their school uniform after retakes.

Lost & Found

The lost and found box in the gym is overflowing with jackets, shoes, water bottles and more. Before every school break, remaining items will be given away.  Please have your children check the lost and found box!

Props Needed for Vanguard's Musical

The Vanguard School will proudly present The Music Man on November 16, 17, and 18.  We are in need of several props to help make the production a success.  Perhaps you have an old suitcase, some picnic baskets, or an Indian head-dress in your basement or garage? Check out the attached document for a complete list of needed items!  Please bring any items (labeled with your name) to Mrs. Fleming's classroom in the high school (room 212).  For questions, please email Mrs. Fleming.

Girls PE Classes

During the month of November, the Girls' PE classes will be having a track unit. To add variety to where they run, Ms. Buhs is taking them into the wooded area behind the high school for a few days. Please click here to read a letter from Ms. Buhs about this  track unit and the safety measures in place.

Weather Policy

Cheyenne Mountain Charter Academy and The Vanguard School will be bound by District 12 (D-12) decisions on whether to close, delay opening, or announce early dismissal because of inclement weather. Click here for a list of places you can check to find out if school is delayed or closed. In all cases of bad weather, parents should exercise their own judgment about whether to transport their children to school. Tardy arrivals or absences on such occasions will be excused.
