Author Event: The Language of Paradise
Castine summer resident Barbara Moss will talk about and read from her debut novel The Language of Paradise at the Library on Thursday August 27 at 7:00 PM.paradise Set in nineteenth-century New England, the novel is about the test of a woman's love against her husband's utopian quest. One of the characters in the novel is patterned on Blue Hill's own Rev. Jonathan Fisher, the first settled minister of the Town.

Barbara Klein Moss is a graduate of Syracuse University and the Warren Wilson MFA Program for Writers. Her collection of stories, Little Edens, was published by W.W. Norton in 2004. Her fiction has appeared in New England Review, The Georgia Review, The Missouri Review, Southwest Review, and The Best American Short Stories 2001. She has received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the MacDowell Colony, the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, and the Maryland State Arts Council. When not in Maine she lives with her husband in Annapolis, Maryland.

Books will be available for sale and signing. This event is sponsored by the Library and Blue Hill Books. There is no charge, and everyone is welcome. For more information, call the Library at 374-5515.
