5:00 PM - Ribbon-cutting and re-dedication ceremony involving the County Commissioners and others. We'll be renaming the fields Charlie Wagner Field, Rocky Colavito Field, Vic Wertz Field and Whitey Kurowski Field respectively and we'll unveil the official plans for the Green Monster replica that will be going onto Charlie Wagner Field. Construction of the Green Monster replica and the full Charlie Wagner Field renovations will not actually start until late October after our season is completed.
Following the ceremony we will also be giving tours of the facility and highlighting the over $150,000 in upgrades that we've already made as well as having a lot of other fun family activities after that, which will include...
- Pitch, Hit and Run Contest on Field #1, Free for kids 14 & younger (Sponsored by Crime Alert and Mortgage America)
- Registration (Free) starts at 5:30 PM, Event starts at 6:00 PM.
- Youth Home Run Derby on Field #4, $25 registration fee for kids 18 & younger (Sponsored by Rawlings Sporting Goods)
- Registration ($25) starts at 5:30 PM, Event starts at 6:00 PM.
- Top five winners will receive gift certificates for the Rawlings Outlet in the amounts of $175, $125, $100, $75 and $50.
- Adult Home Run Derby on Field #3, $50 registration fee for adults 18 & over (Sponsored by Rawlings Sporting Goods)
- Registration ($50) starts at 5:30 PM, Event starts at 6:00 PM.
- Top three winners receive gift certificates for the Rawlings Outlet in the amounts of $300, $150 and $75.
- Open Fun Batting Practice on Field #2, Free for anyone who wishes to take a few cuts!
Jackie Hoffman and Y-102 will be doing a live remote broadcast from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and we'll have several of our vendors on hand with give-aways for everyone!
We will have Live Entertainment featuring some of Berkshire Baseball's most talented alumni starting at 7:00 PM.
