While typing this greeting I heard a loud horn honk outside my window and it sounded URGENT. I live VERY close to Vanderlyn and speeding traffic, illegally parked cars, and pedestrian safety are all issues that we face every morning and afternoon. I'm sure it is the same near all schools so I want to issue another friendly reminder that no matter how late you are for work, please drive safely and obey the traffic laws when in a school zone. A friend, who is a school crossing guard, sent me an email yesterday asking that I send this reminder. She was almost run over yesterday by a speeding car and saw two dogs and a child almost hit before that! Go slow, be safe, and make it pleasant for kids to walk and bike to school!
