Hello my stylish friends! I have few updates before we start summer. It has is been awhile since we last touched base......but it did not warm up for so long, it just didn't feel like spring. But here we are, hopefully the rain is gone and the sun is here to stay.
On the fashion front....make sure you have a pair of colored jeans. Pastels are better for spring and summer. The other must have is a chambray shirt to use as a wrap in the AC this summer. It will be so cute over a sundress or even a bathing suit.
Moving on to products........my favorite! I have been using Suave Keratin Infusion Dry Shampoo in between washes. I think this product is a winner because I have used dry shampoos for about two years now and have not been totally happy with the results. I found most of them made my scalp itchy and did not really make my hair look clean - it just camouflaged the dirt. The Suave really makes the hair look clean and no itchy scalp!
I don't use concealer that much because I find it creases and actually accentuates the wrinkles. Sometimes you just cannot avoid it, so I have been trying different products. The one that I have found that does not crease and gives a nice luminous effect is MagicLUMI by Loreal.
I have been really into this lipstick by a company called Tarte. It is so creamy and shiny all at the same time. You don't even need a gloss over it and it stays put for hours. It does not dry out the lips and the tube is so cute! My favorite colors are Inspired, Playful and Grateful. I found it at ULTA.
'Tis the season for sunscreen! We have covered this before, but wanted to remind everyone to get their SPF now! There are tons of several great options. I have always liked Neutrogena and Aveeno products. However, my favorite is Supergoop. I just wear it like lotion in the summer because it does not feel like sunscreen. In this line my favorite product is the City Serum. I wear it everyday under my makeup all four seasons! This product is not in drugstores, but is affordable. Angela Micheal Skincare carries it, while you are there check out her spray tan. I recently had her do my first spray tan and I really loved the results!
Finally, it is time to talk nail polish!!!! Here are the new colors I have tried that I love and what I love about them! Here goes:
Fair Game by Essie - This color is a winner in any season. It is a slightly iridescent blueish silver that works for lots of different occasions. It looks great when wearing all blacks, browns or reds. It also looks really stylish while doing an all white summer look. Another thing I really like about it is that it looks current and fun, but also professional at a business meeting.
Maximilian Strasse-her by Essie - This is a fun grey-green that is really fun for summer. It is not bright, but gives off a fun vibe that is cute for summer with over-doing it.
OPI on Collins Ave by OPI - This color is really just an updated version of our old friend Cajun Shrimp. It is an orangey-red that looks fab with a tan. Named after a street in Miami that is sunny and ritzy, it is the perfect polish for summer vacation.
Smoking Hot by Essie - This is really more of a fall/winter color, but since we had winter for so long, I had to mention it since it kept me happy in the cold days of early spring. It is a deep purple with grey undertones. It really needs no more explanation other than it is Smoking Hot!
Happy school is out and summer is on the way!! If you have any products you want me to try, shoot me an email at stylemoment@theahaconnection.com and I will report back...or simply add a comment to this post!
Okay, one last thing.... I am in the final days of my 60 day trial of the NoNo hair remover. Not gonna give my final review until the trial period is up........stay tuned! Until then, go get a mani-pedi and don't forget to wear your lipstick!
