Q: Hi guys, I have been a long time Surf City Garage user but am a beginner when it comes to buffing. I have been using your Beyond Clay and Barrier Reef with a buffer and everything turns out great! However, I have a question: How can I clean my foam pads effectively, without harming them?
A: Great question Ron!! When it comes to buffing, there is nothing more important than starting off with a perfectly clean pad. When you finish polishing your ride to a "smooth-as-glass" finish with Beyond Clay, you definitely want to make sure you clean your pads before moving on to Barrier Reef Carnauba Wax. This is how we do it at Surf City Garage:
First, try to clean your pads as soon as you can. If the product has not had a chance to dry, it will be much easier to clean. Submerge the pad in a bucket of warm water mixed with 1-2 cups of powdered laundry detergent (i.e. Tide®). You can also use commercial polishing pad cleaners as well (follow directions accordingly). Scrub the surface of the pad aggressively by hand or a with very soft bristle brush until clean. After cleaning the pad, rinse with fresh water. Press the pad firmly between both hands to remove excess water. Do not "ring" or "twist" the pad. Ringing/Twisting the pad will harm the backing of the pad. Place the Pad in a warm/well-ventilated place to dry. Remember... NEVER put a foam buffing pad in the dryer!!!

Leather Care & Cleaning 101:
Making Your Leather Look & Feel Like New
Everyone knows hot weather can do a number on your interior, but cold weather can actually be more damaging. Cloth becomes stiff. Leather and vinyl dry up and crack and tear. Stains get locked in. Even worse, if you've used one of those petroleum-based products, you'll have a temporary shine but a long-term greasy residue that stops the leather from breathing. This leads to cracking, crumbling and discoloration. So how do you keep your interior - and especially your leather - looking and feeling like new? With two of our most popular Enthusiast Grade® products - Dash Away® Interior Detailer and Voodoo Blend™ Leather Rejuvenator.
First, use Dash Away to clean and protect all your interior surfaces - just spray on and wipe off with a clean microfiber cloth, no matter what the surface, from plastic and vinyl to carpet and leather. You'll instantly and safely get rid of the dirt and contaminants without leaving a greasy mess. Dash Away cleans even the toughest stains and its UV protectant will extend the life of your interior. It's simple and easy to use. For those super-tough stains, first spray on and scrub with a soft bristle brush and then wipe clean with a microfiber cloth.
Next, you need to rehydrate your leather by replenishing its natural oils with Voodoo Blend, the only leather conditioner that Brings Your Leather Back From The Dead™, leaving it smooth and supple. If you've got new leather, Voodoo Blend is exactly what you need to condition and protect it - in fact, Voodoo Blend even smells like leather. Apply a small amount of Voodoo Blend to an applicator pad and rub it into the surface until the surface is saturated. Wipe down with a clean microfiber towel and you're done!
