The Great Plains Improvement Foundation C. Carter Crane Emergency Homeless Shelter in Lawton recently celebrated 30 years of providing and homelike environment coupled with a strong supportive case-management to help clients increase income and gain housing.

More than 160 persons registered for the OKACAA Annual Conference held Sept. 9-11 in Oklahoma City. Training was provided for Head Start, Housing/Weatherization, Community Liaison, and Management staff.

 Two Little Dixie Community Action Agency staff members received major awards at the OKACAA Annual Conference. Johnny Moffitt, Associate Director, was presented the Guy Davis Leadership Award and Sharon Pennell, Fiscal Officer, was presented the Fred Tucker Memorial Award during the awards banquet. -----
Carla Flynn has been named Executive Director of Opportunities, Inc. in Watonga. She has served over 20 years starting as a clerk-typist in the Head Start program. More recently she served as Operations Manager and Deputy Director. She has managed the Salvation Army Unit, served on the Watonga Chamber of Commerce Board, the Watonga Hospital Community Relations Committee and on a myriad of other community organizations.
