OKACAA Spring Conference Provides Training

Evolution of CAMore than 150 persons registered for the Oklahoma Association of Community Action Agencies Spring Conference held May 13-15 in Oklahoma City. Training was offered on Results Oriented Management and Accountability, employer legal issues, weatherization topics, and Head Start.

Northeast Oklahoma Community Action Garden Provides Nutritious Vegetables for Families

"Produce and Posies" is a garden project that provides nutritious vegetables to low-income families in Delaware County. It includes a greenhouse where residents can purchase hanging baskets, bedding plants and flowers at reasonable costs with proceeds supporting the gardening project.

Little Dixie 'Race Against Poverty'

Raises Funds for Emergency Assistance Program

Little Dixie Community Action Agency sponsored a 5K Race Against Poverty run/walk at Hugo Lake State Park to raise funds for its Emegency Assistance Program. There were 80 people running and walking in the 6th annual event.

Community Action Partnership Pathways to Excellence

 

Pathways is the Partnership's premier organizational capacity building initiative. Pathways uses 35 Standards of Excellence that define the very best practices for Community Action Agencies. Just as the new CSBG organizational standards developed by the Center of Excellence in collaboration with the Community Action Network define the basic minimum requirements an agency must meet, the Standards of Excellence represent the highest level of management and operational performance to which an agency can aspire.
