Community Action Celebrates 50 Years of Helping People and Changing Lives at Capitol Event

 Oklahoma's Community Action Agencies continued celebrating 50 years of helping people and changing lives with posters highlighting successful agency services displayed in the State Capitol rotunda. Legislators took time during the hectic final week of the legislative session to join Community Action staffers for lunch and and an opportunity to learn more about the positive outcomes resulting from agency services.

 KI BOIS Aiding Homeless Veterans

KI BOIS Community Action Foundation staff members are providing outreach and case management for low-income homeless veterans through the Supportive Services for Veterans Families program. Tammy Randozza oversees the program that enables families to get access to a full range of community benefits to maintain stable housing.

CDSA Helps Adults with Job Training

Community Development Support Association is administering the Adult and Dislocated Workers Program to help residents in a 17 county area. Diedra Williamson oversees the program that helps eligible residents who have been laid off from their jobs, are running out of unemployment benefits, or need to upgrade their job skills to get training needed to obtain jobs paying decent salaries.

Great Plains Hosts 50th Anniversary Celebration

Great Plains Improvement Foundation celebrated Community Action's 50th anniversary by hosting a Family Fun Day on May 31 in Lawton. The celebration featured free food, games, and valuable information on community services.
