New Course Spotlight

The microbrew industry is growing in the Las Vegas Valley. UNLV Continuing Education has initiated a new certificate program to prepare students to become trusted experts on beer. Our instructor is Alex Graham, who is passionate about growing the industry here, and even wants local craft beers to be consumed by fans at local sports venues. Graham describes what students can expect with the UNLV Beer Steward & Connoisseur Certificate program.

DEO Points of Pride

UNLV Summer Term finalized its 2014 report, which details solid growth with a 1.5 percent increase in enrollment and a 3 percent increase in credit hours earned.

Community2Campus (C2C) has forged new connections in the community, creating additional off-campus classroom space. For the spring term, C2C coordinated two courses in Downtown Las Vegas and seven at The Center. A new agreement with the City of Henderson will bring a for-credit nutrition course to Henderson's Multigenerational Center.

C2C Executive Director Liz Baldizan was among the UNLV representatives receiving kudos from the Clark County Department of Family Services Independent Living Unit for coordinating a workshop for college-age youth who have aged out of the foster care system.
