Dan Barber Honored for Service with Continuing Education

Over the course of 20 years, UNLV's Paralegal Certificate program evolved from a startup six-weekend course into a nationally-recognized curriculum and online support system utilized by UNLV and other prominent universities around the country. At the June paralegal graduate celebration, program founder Dan Barber was honored by the Division of Educational Outreach for 20 years of vision and leadership for this thriving program. Read more.

Public Lands Institute Works to Balance Science, People, Policy

The UNLV Public Lands Institute hosted an International Protected Area Exchange (IPAX) symposium on June 18, with approximately 35 people attending the event at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. Fundamental to all sustainable protected area management is the adoption of more participatory, inclusive and equitable models that balance science, people, and policy. Read more.

Registration Deadline Soon for Napa and Antarctic Excursions
The Napa Experience awaits! The registration deadline is August 1 for the two-day excursion to the California wine country, led by Heath Hiudt, UNLV Sommelier Academy instructor and sommelier at the Cosmopolitan's upscale STK restaurant. You will visit several of Heath's favorite vineyards and wineries to sample local wines and have an insider's point of view of wine production from start to finish.
Aug 22-23; $867 (double occupancy)
Fee includes roundtrip airfare (Las Vegas-Sacramento), ground transportation, one-night stay at the Chablis Inn, one group dinner, and 4-5 guided winery tours.

Join expedition leaders Peg Rees and Sharon Schafer on an 11-day cruise during the Antarctic summer. Daily excursions will allow you to experience Antarctic wildlife and scenery up close. OLLI at UNLV Shares the AARP Experience
Volunteers from OLLI at UNLV represented their program as well as the National OLLI Network at AARP's Life at 50+ National Event and Expo, which was held May 30-June 1 in Las Vegas. The conference drew more than 8,000 participants from throughout the U.S. including New York, Virginia, Texas, and California. Read more.
