Non-profit management gets new site, new curriculum for the new year 

Non-rpfit Mgt   

The Non-Profit Management Certificate program through UNLV Continuing Education is revising its curriculum and moving its classes to a new location at Las Vegas' Historic Fifth Street School starting in January.

 

Both changes were conceived to bring the program into closer alignment with the Non-Profit Management graduate certificate offered through the School of Environmental and Public Affairs at the UNLV College of Urban Affairs. Read more.

 

New boot camps to outsmart the SAT and ACT

UNLV Continuing Education has joined with Catalyst to offer SAT and ACT boot camps. The momentum-boosting weekend seminars will arm students with go-to strategies for every question they will face on the day of the test.
 
Students will learn to spot hidden clues that instantly reveal the main idea in long reading passages. They will also find out how to avoid the four sneakiest ways SAT and ACT grammar questions try to trick students. Read more. 

PLI collaborates on a new international initiative

The Public Lands Institute is partnering with the National Park Service on a new initiative, the International Protected Area Exchange (IPAX).

 

Recognizing the value in protecting our global natural areas, IPAX will utilize UNLV's research and education expertise to address the need for additional educational resources to benefit protected areas around the world. Read more. 

 
Online Education joins international consortium to drive innovation
 
Education TechnologyThe UNLV Office of Online Education will work with an international community of experts in educational technology to make online learning more relevant and engaging. Online Education has recently been accepted for membership to the New Media Consortium (NMC).
 
NMC is an international not-for-profit consortium of learning-focused organizations dedicated to the exploration and use of new media and new technologies. Read more.

Summer Term 2013 is just around the corner. Three sessions will be offered:
 
Summer Term 1: May 20 to June 7
Summer Term 2: June 10 to July 12
Summer Term 3: July 15 to August 16.
